Chuno starts off with a bang!

The new KBS2 drama Chuno starring Jang Hyuk, Oh Ji Ho and Lee Da Hae started off very successfully!

According to TNS Media Korea, Chuno already past the 20% ratings with a whopping 22.9%, and it was only the first episode! The second episode’s rating was 24.8%. The ratings already surpassed its popular competitor dramas, Will it Snow on Christmas? (SBS – 14.5%) and Hero (MBC – 5.3%). Will this be the first hit drama of 2010? I think so!

The drama itself is making headlines, but the OST is already getting popular as well. Lim Jae Beom’s Brand, which came out at the very end of the first episode, garnered attention for it’s powerful vocals as well as its emotional depth. Lim Jae Beom is known for his deep and charismatic voice, and his name is currently topping search engines such as Naver.

Considering its drama and OST’s immediate success, I guess Chuno will be the first big hit of 2010; hope it continues to be successful!

Well not EPIC MISOGYNY like it was in the 90s (one drama where 2 courtesans were accused and tried for treason - they got tortured with hot pokers and had their boobs cut off), but you know, it's still kinda there sometimes.

I try to ignore it and just admire the setpiece work. They always get that right, at least.
