BLACKPINK To Extend Promotion Period With “Forever Young”
On July 9, BLACKPINK announced that they would extend their promotion period until the end of July.
BLACKPINK will continue their promotional activities with the B-side track “Forever Young” starting this week. After receiving a great amount of love following their comeback, the group decided to extend their promotion period as a way to thank fans for their passionate support.
The group achieved amazing results with their song “DDU-DU DDU-DU,” taking nine wins on music shows so far.
In addition to these music show wins, BLACKPINK also took home some achievements on the digital music charts, as “DDU-DU DDU-DU” has kept its No. 1 spot on the major Korean streaming sites’ real-time music charts for 25 days now. The song was also ranked No. 40 on the Billboard 200 chart and No. 55 on the Hot 100 chart, the highest for any K-pop girl group.
They also set new records for having the fastest K-pop music video to reach 150 million views on YouTube and for having the second highest 24 hour views among all music videos in YouTube history.
BLACKPINK will begin performing “Forever Young” on the July 14 episode of MBC’s “Music Core.”

The group’s music video was first released on June 15 at 6 p.m. KST. A little over 21 days and seven hours later, it reached 150 million views on YouTube at approximately 1:14 a.m. KST on July 7!
This means BLACKPINK now holds the record for the fastest K-pop group music video to reach this milestone, beating BTS’s previous record of 24 days and two hours with “Fake Love.”
BLACKPINK’s “DDU-DU DDU-DU” has consistently broken records of being the fastest girl group MV to reach milestones on Youtube. It was also confirmed to have garnered the second most amount of views ever on a music video in YouTube history, which means it also recorded the highest official number of views in 24 hours ever for a K-pop MV.
