I love this album. It's insane how cohesive this album sounds and how much they improved during their break?? They're so talented I can't even.

I'm so glad that the boys themselves (especially Jae) are very satisfied with all of the songs. It's all so good. I'm enjoying all of it. DAY6 continues to have no bad songs

^^YES to all of this!!! it really is such a cohesive album but has so many different colors at the same time!! it's unbelievable how much they've grown just from six months of not-really-break since they were in the midst of japanese promotions and concerts as well!!

ok ok, time for extended thoughts (whoooooo, my hands are still shaking, day6 is really THAT powerful huh)

Warning! - this is a CLASSIC day6 banger right here!!! this gives me how can i say vibes, especially the powerful opening. but i LOVE wonpil and sungjin's opening vocals, especially how they stretch their notes up (idk the proper term??). this is such a good intro to the album, honestly, it's so powerful. i love that they took inspiration from "Do Not" warning labels, and the line in the chorus, "Do not let go of this hand".... iconic lyrical kings, tbh!!!
Shoot Me - WHAT CAN I SAY, DAY6 HAS DONE IT AGAIN!! honestly, when i first saw the description as reggae-rock, i wondered how they would mesh those genres, but!!!! also, i just love the lyrics?? this is the lyrical continuation of blood, except this time they finally realize that fighting so much is NOT healthy or attractive (who hurt these boys??)!!! this song is flawless, 10/10. day6 continues to evolve while maintaining a consistent sound, absolute kings!!!
Somehow - this is the early favorite!!! the progression of the song is SO good, and i love the verses!! gives me "The Day" vibes, particularly Like that Sun and Freely. i can just imagine the boys rocking out and enjoying this on stage!!!! this is such a good summer song!!! i wish i knew more musical terms so i could talk about the stuff they do in the verses!!! but another flawless, perfect song to add to their discography!!!!
Feeling Good - THAT GUITAR AT THE BEGINNING!!! SLAY ME!!! just like the title, this is a real feel good song!!! i love how this doesn't use all the typical "fun song" tropes, but the extended notes in the verses give it a slightly more drawn out and dark feeling. the verses really build up anticipation to the chorus, so the song is dynamic and interesting to listen to! young k's falsetto is perfection as always, and this has the return of day6's classic "whoos" in the background!! but i love the reoccuring guitar line! another banger
Talking To - RETURN OF THE RAPLINE!! yes yes yes!!!! an alternate translation i saw for the title was "monologue," and that really captures the song's feeling perfectly. the rhythms are so fun and so reminiscent of just talking to yourself with no one around. the raps are so good and so atypical of what i normally associate with korean rap. they're lighthearted and play with rhyme and rhythm. (also, young k's deeper voice when he raps is always a treat)
Still - my FEELS!!!!! day6 can really never do anything the same as anyone else huh!!!! this isn't your typical ballad song. i love how the chorus has those powerful long notes but then fades into the gentle synth!! the perfect song to listen to as you walk among bright sunlight/falling leaves/drifting snow/blooming flowers and think about life!! perfect for all seasons and all times!!!

overall: ANOTHER FLAWLESS ALBUM FROM DAY6!!! my favorite part has been how enthusiastic they all are about every song on here. in all their v lives and little clips, they're so proud of themselves and these songs that they worked on together. honestly, i love that they're so proud of their work no matter what results they get or what other people say. in conclusion, BUY SHOOT ME: YOUTH PART 1!!!

I agree with all of this. It's like a snippet of every type of song they did before but improved and so fresh?? I don't even know how they do it. Like what they did with Somehow it reminded me of Barae/바래 so much, that uplifting/hopeful feeling?? It made me cry during the first listen. Still and Talking to is so beautiful btw (I can go on forever talking about how good the songs are) I can't even choose a favorite song because it all goes all well so much.

DAY6 is truly a superband, their growth is insane. Stanning DAY6 is truly worth it ;___; take all my money.

really good album, definitely my favorite release from them so far! i tend to like their more upbeat songs the most so i love that we got so many! feeling good and somehow are my favorites but i really like shoot me too, the lead up to the final chorus with wonpil is great. still is also good even if it's a slower song (don't get me wrong, it's not like i hate ballads/slow songs lol).
