The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) have appointed EXO as honorary ambassadors for Korean tourism this year.

The KTO plans to create advertisements and other contents under the theme of “Korea Asks You, Have you ever?” The promotional videos will be divided into six different categories of “history and tradition,” “daily lives of Koreans,” “adventure,” “trend,” “healing,” and “Hallyu.” The members of EXO will take on each topic and introduce various experiences and activities that tourists can enjoy.

This year’s ads will not only showcase activities related to peace in the Korean peninsula, such as trips to the DMZ, but they will also introduce Hallyu contents and introduce more activities in areas outside of Seoul as well. The new content will be differentiated from what has been shown so far, enticing more tourists to come to Korea and enjoy many more new experiences.

EXO’s promotional ads will begin airing on overseas television channels, YouTube, and Facebook from August. The KTO stated, “EXO is one of K-pop’s most representative stars, as can be seen by the fact that they performed at the PyeongChang Winter Olympics. They have a strong fandom base all over the world, and we believe they will be a great contribution in bringing more tourists to Korea.”
