Synopsis: Narcissistic Lee Young Joon, the vice president of a company run by his family, is very self absorbed and thinks highly of himself, so much so that he barely acknowledges the people around him. Lee Young Joon has a capable and patient secretary in Kim Mi So who has remained by his side and worked diligently for 9 years without any romantic involvement. When Mi So decides to resign from her job, hilarious misunderstandings ensue. After 9 years of their strictly-workplace relationship, can it now develop in something more?

Apparently, starting with Ep 3 new writers came in and by Ep 5 the original writer was gone, which explains a lot. I’m disappointed because I loved the first eps and am not liking some storylines now.

op note explains a lot indeed. starting from 4th ep i was kinda feeling iffy about this whole evil brother/kidnapping/usual melo crap/ plot but this drama is based on novel/webtoon so i kept reminding myself that i should've expected this. i adored first eps and keep going 'eh' at new ones, so i can't say i quite enjoy where this is going but this drama is still fun and i love park min young.

Eps 1 & 2 were fine, everything else since then has been shit. I'm pretty much done with this drama. Like, I had to force myself to even start the last two eps, and while there were some funny laugh out loud moments, the rest of it was so... disappointing. convoluted. annoying. Not even PSJ's great face can save this for me. The only thing I'm remotely interested in right now is Chansung and new Ms. Kim's subplot.

I really wish I liked this more. I wish it were better.

I think I'm old, because I find the idea that a guy ignores your boundaries, wishes, and privacy to 'pursue' you really offputting. Ditto with being defensive (one suit guy) or pushy forward (brother). It's just not romantic.

When I heard they got a new writer it explained so much. Episodes 5-6 weren't as bad as 3-4, I think because my expectations were already dashed and I was braced for impact. That said, I don't really remember anything about the episodes and it took me 4 days to get through them. I do remember that he seems to ignore her boundaries and insisted on joining her day off. I found that really offputting, even if PSJ can sell it (heh, at least the busriders thought he lacked any strength.)

I love a good romcom and I love storylines where the couple has known each other ages, but I'm not sure I'll get through the rest of this. We'll see. I'll try to, because I want a flully show and the main actors are good.

I cannot stand that shrieky woman who works in the office and keeps making awful mouth faces and tossing her hair. And the new Ms. Kim irks me as a character, as an actress, and as a voice. The brothers may just be a case of childhood misunderstanding/trauma/poor communication, but I don't care and don't want it in my romcom! It kind of reminds me of kill me/heal me -- rom com, shrieky woman, unnecessary darkness .... (but at least that was the point in that show.)

I'm still seeing a lot of positive comments other places, so I guess this new writer's drivel will be rewarded. To bad OG writer, you seemed awesome. I will check out your new projects!

(though with preemption, maybe I'll wait a few weeks to try these.)

Or another rom com that doesn't involve a too-pushy male or a shrieky female? I have been thinking of finally trying Pinocchio, but I'm having trouble starting. It seems like it gets bogged down in *news shit*.

Are You Human Too is decent but the female lead is unlikeable at the moment (though getting better). I'm sticking with it because Robot Boy is adorable and great. I am enjoying it but it's not at the level where I'm trying to get everyone to watch.

Fantastic romcom from last year that I am trying to get everyone to watch: 20th Century Boy and Girl. They were childhood friends that reconnected (which you like) and it's just a really great drama with good friendships and a great couple. I really love it and try to hype it up whenever I can.

Ok, I just watched the first episode and I love the girlfriends. And Lee Sang Woo!!!! I had largely blocked this out of my mind because I have a visceral ick to Kim Ji Seok, but I am going to try to roll with it. (I don't really have a reason for the 'ick' so maybe this series will win me over to simple indifference ....)

I'm glad you liked the first ep! It got awful ratings when it was on air and I was so sad because it was just delightful, showminomoney and I still have conversations about how much we loved it lol. I loved Kim Ji Suk before the drama and extra loved him during/after (honestly, his character is what I wish all male kdrama romcom leads were) so hopefully you'll be swayed as you watch (or just not let him bug you lol). The friend group feels so real and lived in and I love their relationships with each other so much. Hopefully you'll keep enjoying it, let me know your thoughts!

I'm actually hooked on Are you human too despite haaaaaating everyone but the lead (the robot. Other one can keep sleeping for all I care). The secretary is kind of a dick, but I'm putting him in the might come around category. I'm staying for RoboShin finding a home and getting his real boy ending, which is more than enough reason for me.

I still like it all the same. There have been a lot of cliche moments, but I had ascribed it to the comic book genre, so it didn't bother me at all. I hope the new writers to tone that down after finding their bearings, but the comedy and story still work for me. I like the characters (not so much incompetent new Sec. Kim and one suit guy. The loud one is amusingly un-self aware). I'm hoping we'll be able to avoid in-law drama since the parents seem happy to marry him off to her.

i'm actually really loving this drama and can't wait till the next episode. i want to know what really happened with the kidnapping. i was disappointed to find out that she's been thinking about the older brother but i'm waiting to see what happened. and i really want to know why the brothers hate each other so much.
