I wish this choreo went harder, especially in the chorus. Like they're literally doing a cheerleading move before the first ddu-du ddu-du du move? Could've been better. Could've Would've Should've Didn't.
Anyway! I'm glad they get a moving dance practice! They're more fun than the single angle ones. Rosé looks great with her new red hair. I love watching her dance too, her limbs are so long and graceful. Also, Jisoo in a crop top for dance practice vids!! A new era for her! I'm loving it!
Same tho. It has some fun moves like the ddu-du ddu-du parts and I like most of the dance break, but as a whole it's not as engaging to watch as their previous choreos.
There’s definitely some really good moments in the routine but it gets lost :/ the group pose before the chorus and everything from 3 mins on is rly good but then the 30 seconds before it is just them walking around??? It loses its punch.
that's a very good point! when i made the comment i had only been thinking about how distracting the revealing clothing had been to see as a viewer and also how it didn't add to the performance's impact.
i saw this earlier and i have to say that they look more alive (?) in this one than in all their live stages. i wish the choreo could've been more but hey, this looks better since they're actually in sync (and there aren't any uncomfortably short skirts).
This was so much better than the stages this weekend. There’s a lot of filler and it feels like some of that filler is recycling stuff from boombayah and AIIYL.
I’m kind of surprised at how many people don’t like the choreography. I’ve been participating in dance battles since freshman year and this is a solid routine. But I agree, they’re more sharp here than on their live stages.
I'm not surprised many aren't impressed, they set the bar pretty high for themselves so this is a tad disappointing. As someone who also has done battle since freshman year of high school (so doing math looking at more than 10 years..man I feel old) and still attends dance events, workshops, etc. this is a weak routine. hey are sharper for sure, but their first three sets of choreography called for a lot of intricate movements that fit in well with transitions and formations. I think the reason they are out of breath more with this choreo is because while the movements are very "cool girls on the dancefloor" the amount of spins and formation changes could be the thing that's tiring. One positive is that I'll probably enjoy the dance covers on Youtube more, with simpler dances/routines, you see more fans putting their own "unf" or style into it so that's always fun.
rose looks much better hitting the moves here, actually everyone is. the only part that's kinda not as smooth/clean is probably the starting till jennie's part, still not very impressed by it for an intro to the song
he came on twitter to explain that he did the choreography in la and basically just sent in a video or something like that and yg was the one who'd pick which parts to use.
These clothes fit the dance way better, I like seeing the girls look comfy. Still don't like this dance, and I keep watching it to see if it'll change my mind. Lisa is really serving this comeback though. She isn't my bias but definitely turning heads.
i'm into the dance break at the end, esp the move at 3:01. rose can like..... get it
it's getting harder and harder for me to buy their "bad girl" stage persona though, in this cb they just come off as kinda try-hard to me. jennie's rap was my fav part of the mv partly bc of how ott the visuals were, and even though i still like it i can't rly take the lyrics seriously. like... off stage they act even more cutesy and goody-two-shoes than twice does lol, and in some cases having a drastic shift between an on-stage and off-stage persona is a good thing bc it shows that the person in question is a talented performer, but only if they manage to make it believable... which i don't think these girls do (except maybe lisa). like others have said, it kinda just feels like yg is rehashing 2ne1's concept, instead of allowing the girls to develop their own distinct image

Date: 2018-06-18 04:19 pm (UTC)seem like stage outfits dont help them, dance looks a lot better here
i hope they can find a good balance between making girls look great and a proper outfit for this kind of moves
like..... super short and tight skirts arent the only option
