Date: 2018-06-16 02:02 pm (UTC)While I enjoyed the first two eps where they showed us just how great Secretary Kim was and then setting up this pretty interesting plot, this weeks eps were kind of a let down for me.
1) Because having a boss coming on to his secretary is a little.. uncomfortable to watch? Like on paper the plot sounded promising, but when you really think about it, a lot of the things that Youngjoon did/is doing is kind of manipulative. Miso's trying to quit her job but Youngjoon's literally trying to manipulate her into dating/marrying him instead of leaving because he needs her. That "need" is obviously going to turn into feelings of love eventually, but the fact that she's still working under him and that she can't exactly say no to his advances is what makes things uncomfortable to watch. I feel like this is only being seen as 'okay' because he's a hot guy and that she's starting to like him back for real. The worst scene was him crashing a blind date she was having, and then getting her to apologize for it "because she needed to focus on the work event tomorrow". Let her live dude. The hell.
2) I was excited to see what Youngjoon's brother was going to bring to the show. I was expecting a more charming 2nd lead who would woo Miso by being nice and hot or whatever, but while his intro was that, the follow up where he basically harassed Miso for her number was.. ugh. why. And then it turns out that he's a shitty person that blames his family/brother for his lack of success, threatening to date Miso to get back at Youngjoon? double ugh.
3) The whole dark side of the show. I feel like.. it's unnecessary? Or that the writers haven't been writing those parts in a way that feels natural? In episode 1 we had Miso scream at a spider and then suddenly ask her sister if she was kidnapped as a child? That didn't make any sense. Then we have the whole "long lost oppa", which is obviously going to be one of the Lee brothers. And then the bullying/life ruining thing between the brothers. None of it really fits the tone of the rest of the show for me. It's almost as jarring as the tonal shifts in Strong Woman Do Bong Soon.
Other Notes:
- Miso rode the merry-go-round 7 times. she's surprisingly childish.
- why is it taking her so long to put together the whole cable tie trauma being connected to youngjoon's ankle wound thing?
- is having guy cut your food for you romantic? i find it patronizing.
- 3 shirtless scenes in 4 eps. bless.
- psj looks hot lying down on the couch.
- i hope chansung and ms bong get together. i'd be so mad if he ended up with sec. kim in training.
- we don't need all these longing stares and almost kisses and going way too close to each others faces and falling on top of each other moments. tf. it's so cheesy in a bad way and they ruin the moments for me more than add to them cause it feels so forced.
I feel really bad that I'm not enjoying this drama the way I was hoping to.. It has some fun funny moments, and I think the leads are all really hot and I wanna see them all kiss, but the story is just losing me. I don't have anything else going rn, so I'll probably keep watching anyway.

Date: 2018-06-23 09:35 pm (UTC)I was also very surprised at how childish and young Mi So acted on the carousel, not to mention that scene lasted so long. I was like, um you're 28...and even if she's never been able to ride it before, I doubt she'd ride it 7 times and act like such a kid on it. Yeah, she's a "motae" or whatever it's called, meaning she's never dated before, but come on, I have a hard time believing she'd act like that.
Bless Park Seo Joon, though, I could look at his face all day. When he smiles...he's so handsome!

Date: 2018-06-16 07:33 pm (UTC)i basically have no internet capabilites until Tuesday, cause my modem is dying. let me elaborate. i cannot download, stream or play games becuase of this. my internet provider is replacing our modem, but it will not be shipped out until monday, yes monday. which means i will not have a modem until tuesday. luckly i do not have to pay for it and will be credited for 4 days on our statement. apparently there are no techs who work on weekends. which is BS in my opinion and no retailers here carry DSL modems in store. i am so pissed and irritated over this.
so i will not be able to catch up on anything until probably next weekend. which pisses me off cause i was so going to have a chill weekend and relax.
