“Life on Mars” will be an investigative drama about a detective from 2018 who finds himself in the year 1988 and searches for his memories. It’s a remake of the popular BBC series of the same name. Jung Kyung Ho will be playing a cynical detective named Han Tae Joo. He’s an intelligent present-day detective who values evidence and data. One day, while pursuing a serial murder case, he wakes up in the year 1988 and works with detectives from the past.

Park Sung Woong appears as a rugged but humane detective from 1988. Kang Dong Chul is uninterested in evidence and instead uses his keen instincts and intuition to solve his cases. Because of their extremely different personalities, Han Tae Joo and Kang Dong Chul bicker while conducting their investigations, and show off another kind of bromance.

Go Ah Sung will play a passionate female detective named Yoon Na Young. She embodied everything about the 80s from the way she talked to her actions. Her character isn’t discouraged by the fact that she’s in charge of menial tasks and works hard to become a skillful detective.

Other characters include action-taker Lee Yong Ki (played by Oh Dae Hwan), future detective-in-the-making Jo Nam Sik (played by Noh Jong Hyun), coroner Manager Park (played by Kim Ki Chun), elite detective Chief Kim (played by Kim Young Pil), and Han Tae Joo’s aunt Han Mal Sook (played by Kim Jae Kyung).

"Life on Mars" premieres on Saturday, June 9 on OCN.

These teasers have been so fun, I'm really looking forward to this! It does look like Viu will be subbing it, I was stressed about having no subs.

I'd be interested to see if it tackled anything about how Korea was transitioning from dictatorship to democracy and how that affected the police force.

From the trailers it doesn't seem like it'll take the same tone as the BBC original (which I was subject to during my teenage years bc mum loved it). It had quite dark humour which is a very stark contract to Korean humour.

This looks fun/interesting but honestly I'm soooo tired of the 'group of men +1 token woman' trope in non-romance dramas.

But sis, with more woman it wouldn't be serious enough!
If other woman appears she only can be our hero love from the past who's tragic fate is catalyst for our boy's plot or eventually his mama!

I actually dont mind as that 1 woman tends to be badass and not annoying and also not a damsel in distress like what other kdramas like to do. But of course, having more will be awesome. But this is a Kdrama so you cant really expect more.
