TWICE Confirms Plans For Summer Comeback

TWICE is gearing up for their next comeback!

On June 7, industry representatives reported that the girl group filmed their new Korean music video in Japan this month.

In response, the group’s agency JYP Entertainment confirmed, “TWICE recently completed filming for their new music video in Japan. They are working on an album aimed for a July comeback, and the exact comeback schedule will be revealed when it is confirmed.”

This upcoming comeback will be TWICE’s first Korean release in three months after “What is Love?” in April.

Meanwhile, TWICE has finished the Korea and Japan stops of their concert tour and will continue in Singapore on June 17.

They probably gonna get one more comeback in by their anniversary month which will coincide with SIXTEEN/Somi’s group predebut stuff. Don’t they have a selection of solo acts they could be attending to (Fei, Jimin, Yerin, Baek Ah Yeon, Bernard or whatever he goes by, whatever remaining members of 2PM that hasn’t come back yet, etc.) instead of another Twice comeback? Also when will this group move on to the solo endeavor stage of their careers? I know “TWICE forever!” and all that but I would be ready to start doing my own crap at some point.

15& is pretty much dead and they are likely just waiting their contracts out (watch we get some half assed comebacks from both girls and one last unit song if that). Jimin is stuck on ASC and Yerin has been doing more for herself than JYPE has.

IA, but I think it has worked in their (JYPE) favor in making sure no one outshines the other as well as keeping the value of the brand of twice up. Obviously certain girls are more popular infandom, but I don’t think they are more prevalent with public awareness than others or even the group itself. It’s like they are swinging the opposite direction of some of their other groups in order to not repeat prior incidents, but they have yet to hit that equilibrium.

But the thing is, let's say there are two events A & B. If he would split the group 5 members could attend A and 4 appear at B, thus promoting the whole group at two different events. But the way JYPE handles it right now he can only send the whole group to an event, limiting their promotions.
Even if individual girls get more popular they still promote the whole group.

As the person above me said (and I harped on in that who’s the next SNSD post) they are being marketed as a unit. A lot of it is luck (right place right time ala JooE from Momoland), but nothing sticks because they are not looking for something to stick. They don’t even do solo photo shoots.

What I don’t get about JYP always doing this with Twice is that they don’t need it?? They’re not nugu or even one of those girl groups that’s the “it” girl group for like a year or whatever. Twice is indisputably the most popular and successful girl group right now and they have shown time and time again that they’re holding on to their reign, so give them a break for once?? They really need to start pushing these girls as solos. I know JYPE don't really like to do units or solos for active groups, but start having the better singers do some OSTs, start pushing the girls on variety in solos or duos, a radio show. Maybe have the Japanese girls do solo or unit work in Japan. Maybe have the older girls do a slightly more mature sub-unit. The girls are great, but something needs to change before people get bored of them. I know I'm getting tired, and I'm just a casual fan. I'd really like to see another LOA or some other more mature or different concept/sound from them. But also, if JYPE wants them to stay in the cute category, there are still tons of options. Why is it the same paint by numbers song every time?

Also, give the girls a break! If they loosened up on mostly only promoting them as a group, they could rotate resting members and then the girls wouldn't be so tired all the time. Also, maybe if they could grow their image just a little, they would maybe feel free to let loose a little more on variety.

Twice also said many, many times that they wish to have a break (a holiday).
Personally, I don't think they mind the frequent comebacks, but it isn't like they have nothing to do at the moment; they're in the middle of a tour, having just released a Japanese comeback after a successful Korean cb. Not to mention other things they had been doing during both cbs (filming CFs/doing Mag interviews...) adding a new cb to the mix (with everything that comes with it: filming MV/learning new choreo ..etc) is not really necessary.
2 weeks or 4 weeks it's still a comeback, and it still going to be tiresome. And there is no sign of them getting any time off as well, with the expected Japanese album and arena tour.

You can speak about fake concern, and jealous gg stans, but the truth of the matter is Twice are being worked to exhaustion. I don't need to see them faint to know they're overworked. They were clearly exhausted in their last cb, and no matter how much you love something you will come to hate it when you're forced to do it.

It's nice to see a group perform after they have stopped for a while, because you can actually see how much they missed performing. For Twice it's been a tour after a cb after another tour after a cb, after another cb following a cb... for 3 years now. They seriously need a break.

Lol, at the comments here tho, it's true that they did more comeback than SNSD during their peak, but none of the members do solo activies unlike SNSD. Yoona's schedule was way more packed than this one.
