They seemed to have some weird ways of treating her a few years back since she didn't live with the other girls and got an "ice princess" reputation for rejecting a lot of idol norms (might have been a cultural thing since she's American) and basically didn't like that she wasn't a marionette for them to do what they wanted since she rejected a lot of PR opportunities after the very early days. They couldn't really do much about it since she was arguably the most popular member and the face of the group, so when the chance came they really did her dirty.

From what I understand, most of the issues came from personal problems between Taeyeon and Jessica. Also, from my internet research, four members moved out of the dorms before Jessica did.

I'd be interested to hear what PR opportunities she rejected, or how it's a cultural thing when Tiffany did not have the same problems at that time.

I'd also argue that she was not the face of the group or the most popular member (Yoona anyone?), but that's semantics at this point.

1) she was supposed to debut within the first year after she won. even boyfriend/jongsubxhyunjin "debuted" (kinda) within the first year (though hyunjin legit left like 5 mins afterwards). she didn't get the opportunity.
2) they're still saying they'll promote her music.
3) she's literally using what they filmed.
4) she's still keeping a good connection to yge.
