After hearing the song 친구의 여자를 사랑했네 (Loved My Friend’s Girl) off of Brian Joo’s latest album, concerned netizens have pointed out the close similarities between the song and Taegoon’s Call Me remix off of his second mini album released earlier this year. With the beats and the overall sounds to the songs being almost identical, it is being called plagiarism.

Give these people a q-tip or something to clean the paranoia out of their ears. I don't see it.

okay, so the background tracks are similar. you can only do some techno melody stuff so many different ways. the actual melodies and lyrics of both songs are different and don't sound even remotely similar, so i'm thinking that netizens just need to take a chill pill on this one, kthx.

I usually don't see the similarities between these cases of plagiarism, but this one seems really obvious. I feel bad for Brian and Tablo. I doubt it was on purpose on their part. Does anyone know who did compose Brian's song?

i understand what "similarities" the original poster of this clip is trying to show.

however, i do not see how the intro itself is considered plagiarism.
relatively same melody, just a few notes lower in pitch.
pls dont tell me the autotune is part of it, cos that is kinda ridiculous.

sorry if i seem contradictory, but sounding similar=plagiarism is something too far-fetched for me to accept.
if i have missed out something, please tell me.
if not, i really don't see the plagiarism thg going on

Yeah, I agree. Plagiarism is a little too exaggerated.

i did a double take when i read that tablo (and mithra) does the feature rap on this. i know him and brian are probably good buds, but tablo rapping, "i can't stop loving you girlfriend" looool.

From: [identity profile] eukyangkyang.livejournal.com
It's actually "I can't stop loving YOUR girlfriend." :)
IDK if that changes anything though. d:

The beats are really similar, but the overall songs sounds different to me. Idk.
Even if it were plagiarism, I highly doubt it was on purpose.

Nah. But one of Brian's songs DID remind me of an 80's song the way it started out.

I was expecting them to bring that one up but I guess not. XD

It's more than likely that both parties hired the same lazy producer, like Big Bang and Son Dam Bi with "Last Farwell" and "Bad Boy".

What about 2PM's Tired of Waiting? My sister was playing it in the car and I thought it was one of Taegoon's songs. Why has no one come out accusing them of plagiarism?

Date: 2010-01-05 10:20 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] strawberry-efeu.livejournal.com
The reason they sound similar is because it was the same producer who worked on both songs.

Poor Brian...I really don't see how the songs could be seen as being similar enough to be plagiarised. And I bet the poor sweetie is getting all stressed about the situation, he's such a sensitive soul :(
