Hey there! I was wondering if anyone could recommend me a reasonably priced moisturizer and bb cream (might be a cc cream or whatever, as long as it's not too heavy I'll take it) for oily skin with some acne (it's not too bad but it's not great either). I've been using hada labo gokujyun for a year now as per omona's recommendation (bless) but I don't have enough money to buy it again :( my only other condition is fragrance free I guess

My cat went to the vet today for her yearly visit and I feel like she's getting a bit more comfortable with him which is great (even the vet noticed)

I'm still fucking mad at our old vet who did her sterilization because they really left a bad impact on her
She used to be such a loving kitty, social; she would greet visitor - although she was always shy - wait for my bf at the door, or be depressed to the point of not eating if he was away too long;
But after the sterilization I was pretty much the only human she could tolerate. She went through a phase where my bf couldn't touch her.

I learned after that the vet who did the sterilization was actually violent to her which made her wary of all human and especially men (she hates people in general but men in particular). But lately she's been doing better. She still wary of people but she comes to greet our friends.

Another week back in the States and still jobless. I had a phone interview that I thought went great, but I guess I didn't have the right qualifications. Thankfully I have crafting skills I can fall back on. I've made a couple of bucks selling some crochet products. I've also been selling off some unnecessary clutter.

I went to a yoga class for the first time in years last night! I usually do at home yoga for 20-30 minutes but this class was 1 hour and 15 minutes. It felt so good! I took my mom with me and she's never done yoga before. I hope we can do it more often.

Can I be honest? With Honey Popcorn I just.....don't get the discourse for them because if you take away the knowledge that they're former JAV models they look.....pretty much like every other girl group?

So bringing all this up about male gaze and innocent concepts that seem to be accepted here or at least something people have an understanding about - that these girls work hard and deserve to live their dreams and are marketed like this because it's what the market demands, despite how unfair and how cautious GG members have to be - so why the hyper fixation on this group? If anything, addressing their former careers head on is the right way to me and all of the members being women in their 20s makes them less vulnerable because they presumably have a better sense of self.

I just can't understand kicking all this up for this group when other ones just exist presumably with less agency than these girls who funded it themselves.

i don’t have a lot of coherent thoughts on this—like, i do think the discourse is stupid, considering the fact that yua is funding this project herself and i’ve seen other nugu m/vs with much younger members and more icky shots. (and i dunno about anyone else, but the “i feel you” m/v was a more uncomfortable viewing experience for me, and is probably a better example since honey popcorn are closer in age to those wonder girls... but people ate that up, too. even on omona)

like, you can see my thoughts are totally jumbled but i am super wary of those comments since it just seems to be shaming the members for being av workers and to have those concerns with a video that doesn’t warrant it is really ridiculous to me me, imo... people were basically shaming them sex workers before and for doing something else, which doesn’t seem right to me (esp not in the name of caring about feminism in kpop, lmao!)

anyway i agreed w/ ur comments in the honey popcorn posts! the angle people took was weird & i’m glad at least a few ppl tried to comment with other perspectives (and not shame-y ones)

Do you like rom-coms? My all time faves that've ended already are 20th Century Boy & Girl, Fight My Way, and Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo.

I'm watching The Great Seducer right now! It's.. not the best made drama, but it's a fun hate-watch if you're into that. We really go deep into analyzing it in the weekly discussion posts. Only one (lead) person isn't that great at her role, but other people don't seem to mind. The rest of the cast are pretty good and fun to watch.

I'm a law student with zero free time and I definitely had the same problem, and now that I have a kindle it's easier for me to always have a book on hand for random moments where I didn't plan on having a chance to read (on the bus, waiting in line, etc.). I've also searched for points where I usually do nothing or randomly scroll on my phone and replaced that with reading and it's helped a lot.

Happy friday, y'all!
I just got back from my spring break where I took an entire week off from work (le gasp) and went to New York. I made myself leave all my textbooks and work back in Chicago so I could spend my entire time seeing museums (the David Bowie exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum is phenomenal), seeing non-lawyer/law school friends, and eating delicious food (I ate like a monster and have no regrets). Of course I went to K-town to eat tons of mandu, oggle the kpop posters, and buy waaaaay too many k cosmetics. I am so blissfully happy because I never do anything nice for myself like that.
I also performed in my first open mic (super terrifying) where I recited some pieces I wrote about my mental health and recovery from my suicide attempt two years ago, which I had never done in front of a room full of strangers before. People were so warm and receptive, and a bunch of them came up to me and said that they felt better hearing someone else talk about these things the way I did, so even though it was mortifying I think it was all worth it.
Please use the weekend in some way to do something you love, everyone! I feel so rejuvenated and better about myself just by doing something nice for myself.

Spring, FINALLY! or not



Although the sun is still shy here in Toronto I'm constantly praying that the minus double digits degrees never come back because as my first winter in Canada, it was tough lol. I hope everyone is having a sunny weekend ahead :D

I couldn't wait for FFA this week because one week ago I was at Zion.T 's concert here in To and MAN, that was ah-mah-zing. ZION.T. Well he was really something else. He had such a presence and his voice, HIS VOICE! It was like honey and sweets and cotton candy to my ears, literally a FEAST lol. And omg he was so cute and funny, I never knew he would be this funny but he cracked me up all the time. He didn't speak English much but I could understand what he said in Korean (I was really proud of myself, self high fiving and all...). The moment where I almost teared up was when he talked about his friendship with Crush, he said he wished Crush was there with him but he couldn't, he kept saying that Crush is really an amazing friend etc... after that he let us sing Crush's part in their song and said "thank you Crush, love you Crush", I LIVE for their bromance it's just so cute.
He also kept saying that he wished nothing but happiness for us and tbh he is the only artist I know who did a 40min-45min encore, coming back THREE TIMES because we kept shouting his name. He even said that his mom would call him and say: you are tired, why didn't you eat and sleep yet? lol

ANYWAY, sorry for the long R&B (Rant and Beam) about it but it was an amazing experience, I loved him and the show was really good so I needed to express my emotions lol.

On another note I finished Radio Romance and if not for the lead couple, I would have skipped and devoted my time to another drama. For me it was an empty and very frowning Dojoon oriented drama lol. I'm also bracing myself for the soon-to-be end of Misty, I'm not ready to let this drama go, it's just TOO good. I'm going to start the Great Seducer this weekend since I've heard it's a fun ride. Oh and anyone started the drama with IU? Is it good so far?

I'm on my way back from a job interview!!! I think I did well. It's a little bittersweet because the more I learn about the job, the less it fits (I'm clearly a grade above both in degrees and experience) but as a 3rd ever job in a totally different region, I feel like I have to consider it... It would help building a network too. Also they asked me if I would be interested in another job (based on my answers during the interview) so I have to see what they mean about tha. Anyway! Back to the job search. It's a big boost to leave happy from a job interview and I hope I can keep this energy to get more interviews soon! Because I was loosing energy before they called to schedule the interview. TT

I've downloaded amino earlier this week lmao it's perfect to use for two minutes to cool down anxiety but god there are so many quizzes lol I really have to stop myself XD
And I'm reading and going to the movies again! I have time lol. Kindle makes everything so easy. So far I'm reading a Verne classic that I swore to read ages ago. I reaaaaally liked Black Panther (I casually follow the MCU) and the Shape of Water was absolutely beautiful. I think I'm going to check the other oscar nominations this week if they still have morning screening.

Also, it's been raining on and off all week (typical Bay Area/Northern California bullshit) and I'm a huge baby so that's been a struggle (definitely played into my lackluster spring break).

spring welcomed me with a sore throat and now i seem to be getting worse. idk how accurate my thermometer is, but it seems like i've got a low grade fever. and i always get sick when my PCP is out of the office. :)

i applied for SSI almost 6 weeks ago and got my first "denial" letter on wednesday. turns out they only got records from two providers that i listed, and those two don't really have extensive records on me. they got nothing from my PCP, which isn't a shock. her staff leaves a lot to be desired.
i filed an appeal online, and i'll talk to my PCP about my records on monday. if my appeal gets denied, then i'll contact my lawyer and see about going for a hearing.

i'm not really surprised about getting denied. i'm just pissed that my PCP's office can't get their shit together when i really need them to.

This spring is a scam. It’s coldlol plus we’re supposed to be getting snow. I’m thankfully going to St. Louis this weekend with my fam and it’s a nice balmy 50 degrees there.

I got my bridesmaid dress today and IT’S TOO BIG! I lost weight thank god. And I’ve only been on this diet since March 3rd. I’m very very pleased with how I’m doing even though I crave pizza, Mexican food, sushi, and chocolate cake constantly. I just need to get the dress taken in but I’m terrified of losing and/or gaining more before this wedding. It’s not until July so I have a lot of time to ruin everything lol.

Speaking of July there’s so many concerts happening and I want to go to them all but this wedding and all it’s plans are cramping my style 😩. Panic! At the Disco, Hayley Kiyoko, Paramore. Ugh I wanna go.
