JBJ to disband at the end of April
2018-03-14 11:11 pmOn March 14, it was revealed through an official statement, “7 months of promotions will be concluded with the expiration of the management contract on April 30.”
JBJ was originally a fan-imagined group made up of “Produce 101 Season 2” contestants that eventually became reality. The statement reads, “It is completely thanks to fans that JBJ was able to be born and exist. We express our deep gratitude to the many fans that have sent support and encouragement throughout the journey that was like a dream. Until now, the members, agencies, and staff went through honest and serious discussions for a long time regarding the expiration and extension of JBJ’s contracts. Many opinions were exchanged, and it was recognized that as the members have to move onto the next page, each of their dreams and futures are also important.”
JBJ commented, “Although there is much sadness and nervousness for the future, we accept our current individual situations, and with this, we know well that the only way to live up to the support we have received is to work harder towards different dreams. We once again express our sincere gratitude to fans that allowed for a miracle to occur. We ask for your endless support and encouragement for the members that are beginning on a new start line with nervous hearts and for each of our individual activities. We will work hard so that we can promise to become more improved in the future.”
The JBJ members will continue with their schedules and work to spend time with fans until the end of their contracts on April 30. They will then move on with their activities individually and with different groups.
JBJ, made up of Noh Tae Hyun, Kenta, Kim Sang Gyun, Kim Yong Guk, Kwon Hyun Bin, and Kim Dong Han, debuted in October 2017 with “Fantasy.” They made their first comeback in January 2018 with “My Flower” and took their first music show win on “Music Bank.”

Date: 2018-03-14 10:43 pm (UTC)BUT when I think about the state Hotshot's in, with Sungwoon in Wanna One and members cryptically deleting their social media, when I think about how Kenta has basically zero chance of debuting at his current company, how Donghan's company seems completely inept and looks like it has barely even given the boys any training, when I think about Sanggyun crying at their concert saying he'll probably never get to do this again, it's just so bittersweet :(
I don't wanna blame Hyunbin, as a Yongguk stan it's pm law that I have to love him lmao but I can't help but think his pursuit of a variety/acting career with YG is probably why this happened.

Date: 2018-03-14 11:59 pm (UTC)Idk what will happen to some of the boys. I'm down for more Youngguk and Sihyun cause The The The was my jam. But man Kenta, Sanghyun and Donghan? I feel like Taehyun will be fine once Sungwoon comes back (right? cause I love watching him dance!)

Date: 2018-03-15 12:36 am (UTC)well now we also have Hojoon in that group for The Unit + Junhyuk cryptically deleting all of his social media about a month ago so I wouldn't be so sure tbh =/

Date: 2018-03-15 12:10 am (UTC)All of the boys seemed so happy in JBJ that I can't imagine them in any other group. Even though I told myself to expect this and accept it when it came along, knowing they were a temporary group, I still let myself fall for them so hard :( It was looking hopeful for a while there, so this news is surprising to me even though it shouldn't be.
I guess I'm going to try to keep up with Kenta and hope that the rest of the boys can interact with each other in their free time (especially Kenta and Donghan since I loved their interactions the most). For now it's back to only stanning GG lol.... I'll look forward to any of the boys other activities, but I can't stan whole new groups for them (my heart hurts too much </3).

Date: 2018-03-15 01:54 pm (UTC)like, i haven't watched produce 101 and i didn't care about a single thing about it until i saw Fantasy? Don't get me wrong I have nothing against those guys who won, but it was JBJ that actually grabbed my attention (and kept it!)
i'm gonna miss them. i wish them luck, they're great and deserve more than they were given :(

Date: 2018-03-15 02:07 pm (UTC)But for real, I’m sad about this. I really liked their releases and I really thought they would have the chance to shine more. I wish them all the best, even though the future might seem uncertain for some.

Date: 2018-03-15 03:10 pm (UTC)I never should have gotten invested in Broduce, seriously. First I watched Yuehua screw over Jung Jung and Justin, now this and later I'm going to have to hope my favs in Wanna One can find success after THAT ends...its just garbage. ((yes I know Jung Jung and Justin are on the show in China now but someone want to tell me why they can't EVER be featured on the Yuehua boys insta?))
I wonder if they'll put out anything else before the contract ends? The promoters better not pander to us with some sappy goodbye song bullshit either omfg. Just give them a great song to end with...
