Date: 2018-03-14 02:37 pm (UTC)I love our main trio of friends. They're all rich kids who come from broken and messed up families, who have formed their own little found family. They're so supportive and they care for each other deeply, it's so sweet. There's a whole lot of sexual tension there, but there's definitely more underlying romantic tension too. And I am absolutely devastated that this show isn't going to be just about them, because they are great, there's so much story to be told there... Soo Ji and Si Hyun are clearly in love with each other. CLEARLY. They're just denying themselves.. out of fear of losing their friendship? I'm heart broken about it. They have such amazing intense chemistry, I love their characterizations and how well the actors are able to give such nuanced performances.
The parents having their own drama is interesting, albeit not as interesting as the kids' thing. I just like that it helps build this whole messed up world that they're all in. It gives us a little bit of insight on why they're so horrible to their kids, and that they're not just the cliche "I'm doing this because I love you and want the best for you" kind of thing. Parents can be selfish and have awful motivations too.
Tae Hee and her friend had maybe 20 mins if screen time at most? I don't really have much to say, because they didn't give Tae Hee's much to do. Not gonna lie though, 4 episodes in and I've already formed a bias against her, because I really like Soo Ji. lol I know how this show will end though, so I'm just gonna... sit here and be sad and worried about how they'll try to make Soo Ji unlikable or how they'll try to sell Tae Hee as the better girl...

Date: 2018-03-14 03:00 pm (UTC)YES! I feel like Si Hyun is willing to try it but Soo Ji keeps rejecting him because she is afraid of it not working and losing his friendship which I understand but GIRL, he's your best friends, he's hot, he's rich, maybe give it a shot. Also they guys does date are always these older rich guys that treat her like she's inferior.
Also I agree that our trio is way more interesting than the parents and the good girls. I could watch an entire drama about the trio. I don't know why Tae Hee was advertised as the female lead cause so far she has minimal screen time. Her friends mom is getting just as much scenes as Tae Hee.

Date: 2018-03-14 03:09 pm (UTC)As far as I'm concerned Soo Ji has the most screen time, and the more complex back story, she is definitely the female lead. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ haha

Date: 2018-03-14 03:01 pm (UTC)- "The only English words Se Joo knows is Love and Sex"
- The cinematography is fantastic! It's very well shot and produced, I love the production design and the styling for the characters.
- The trio have a neon sign in their clubhouse/bar place thing that says "Les Liaisons dangereuses" :)
- I like how much they scheme together. I'm all for incredibly complicated revenge plots.
- We got like 6 almost kisses between Soo Ji and Si Hyun. If they never kiss, even just once, I will literally implode.
- The girl playing Kyung Joo is kind of.. a bad actress.. and now I can't really tell if Joy is bad too, or if it's just because they only have each other to bounce off of right now..
- Literally laughed out loud at the twist about Kyung Joo's mom and why she wasn't invited to the graduation
- Woo Do Hwan, Moon Ga Young, and Kim Min Jae are so incredibly attractive and charming.

Date: 2018-03-15 12:42 am (UTC)sooji is weird in the sense that she wants revenge on the guy but gotta hurt the girls involved instead. i guess this is a kdrama :/

Date: 2018-03-14 03:27 pm (UTC)I really enjoy Sooji but I can already see them making her character more sexually innocent than she should be. Like she had 2 ex boyfriends but I don't think they ever showed her even kissing them, unlike Shihyun who seems to kiss like its his only source of oxygen. If they make her the typical Kdrama witch we all hate I'm going to be so disappointed. Both of her male friends are in love with her but she's in love with Shihyun. Yet she keeps dating these manipulative older guys. She's clearly got some trauma based around her mother divorcing her dad and him going to jail so she is afraid of losing people.
Shihyun making out with KyungJoo's mother, I died, he has so many mommy issues. He flirts with his teachers then at a club full of flirtatious women he gives his attention to the emotionally distraught older woman. He just need a noona he can take care of, help me I've fallen.
Sejoo's family physically beating him, and it looks like the female relatives were not allowed to sit at the table! WTH. Also Sejoo clearly loves Sijoo but he knows she's in love with Shihyun. I love the friendship, he runs to Sijoo when she's upset, lets Shihyun stay in his apartment, takes the blame for Shihyun damanging the car. I hope he keeps geting character development.
The only adult I enjoy watching is KyungJoo's mother. She tries so hard to fit in with the other mothers and she obviously loves her daughter so much but I can see how her being a beauty is an issues in a loooks focused society.
Taehee, I'm still not 100% clear on what her deal is with her parents. Her mother abandoned her? But is still supporting her financially? And she's a forever single. Which I guess is this drama's equivalent of being virtuous but to me its not enough cause I think a 19 year old never having a boyfriend is not that big a deal, especially in Korea where they have such long hours of school and tutoring. This is definitely another example of MBC not being able to quite go there. Like all of the trio should be sexually active or damn near and Taehee and Kyungjoo should be more obviously not sexually active.
I have a lot of feeling and I'll probably be in this post replying to everyone.
People saying they don't want to watch it cause they worry it will be like BOF and Heirs, give it a try.
WOODOHWAN IS RIDICULOUSLY SEXY!!! Seriously he looks like Seo KangJoon but with charisma and acting talent. New bias for a reason.

Date: 2018-03-15 02:27 pm (UTC)I hope they keep Taehee's spunk and don't turn her into the typical Mary sue once she starts falling for him. Also, please don't make her fall for him that fast! I already have too high expectations for this drama, which I know I shouldn't considering the type of drama it is, but I can't help it! Give me a good quality heartbreak drama (with a nice ending that is believable and not too contrived)!!
And can I just say, I can never remember the right order of Seo Kang Joon's name. I always type Kang Seo Joon. The use of two "last names" in a name is probably what throws me off. The fact that Park Seo Joon exists doesn't help, either. Haha.

I have so much hope for this drama, let’s hope the writer follows through to the end.

Date: 2018-03-15 02:03 pm (UTC)Anyways, after watching the teasers, I KNEW I was going to be hooked (let's be real, I was already hooked) and told myself that I shouldn't watch it right away...yeah, that didn't turn out well. As someone mentioned already, this is a crack drama and even though I know it's going to be torture and I should wait a few episodes to pile up so I can binge watch, I know I won't be able to resist and will watch each episode as they come out. Hahah sigh.

Date: 2018-03-15 02:16 pm (UTC)I also love the dynamic between the trio, and although this is wishful thinking, hope that they are able to maintain it for as long as possible. Taehee will inevitably come between them, but, yeah. I like Soo Ji, too, and part of me really likes Soo Ji/Shi Hyun, probably because he seems SO into her and she's trying to act as if she doesn't feel the same about him, but I like Taehee/Shihyun a tad more. I just hope they don't make Taehee fall for him too fast, especially since in the last ep they made her act all uninterested in him.
Also hope that they keep with the dark theme of this drama and don't make Soo Ji into the stereotypical spiteful bitch. Andddddd I want to know what's up with Taehee and the car scene? Why was she bleeding? Who left her? Why does she have PTSD from it?? It looks like they're going to make that a key element for Taehee and Shihyun to bond?
Please give us more substance and if it's going to turn into a makjang, at least make it GOOD. I want real heartbreak and drama. THANKSSSSSSS.

Date: 2018-03-16 02:32 pm (UTC)It would totally be interesting if Taehee ends up helping them in their manipulation scheme against Ki Young somehow. Maybe something like, Taehee finds out how much of a jerk Ki Young is and decides to help them get back at him by stringing him along?? I think that would be interesting! And in the process, Shihyun falls for her and saves her from some kind of danger she ends up getting into because she's trying to play Ki Young. Hahah. I'm getting WAYYY too ahead of myself here. And obviously, I've watched too many dramas.
