The reasons people give/believe why these couplings happen so much is bizarre. I like Suzy but she, just like a lot of these girls, doesn't seem too clever or mature so I can't see the reason they click as "she's beyond her years" just cuz she debuted as a child. These guys like feeling Bigger than their s/o and age and gender are huge deals in Korea. I had to look up Suzy's age because the way people were talking I thought she was like 19. But she's my age? I don't think early twenties/mid thirties is a particularly sleazy age gap. I don't know if lee dong wook has a history of exclusively or mostly dating much younger women? Because then I could understand the disapproval. But if not... they're in the same line of work, they must hang out in the same social circles and have similar interests, it seems ok to me.

I'm grossed out by older men who fixate on much younger women, too, but I wouldn't want to jump to conclusions if we're talking about a random couple, not a pattern of behavior. Call me naive but it seems plausible that two adults a decade apart just happen to like each other.
