“Infinity Challenge” members in talk to step down from show

MBC’s “Infinity Challenge” may be getting a new look.

On March 5, the production team revealed they are carefully planning a make-over for the show. Once the production director (PD) Kim Tae-Ho left, the original members such as Yoo Jae-suk, Park Myeong-su, Ha Ha, and Jeong Jun-ha are reportedly discussing stepping down for a new generation to take their place.

Furthermore, the production team along with the new PD, Choi Haeng-ho, are carefully contacting various agencies to cast new members. This suggests that discussions, if not completed already, are nearing an end.

Additionally, many officials hinted that the production team is already moving to sign new members, asking about celebrities’ schedules, and plan to begin official meetings. Meanwhile, Jo Se-ho and Yang Se-hyeong, who joined the show later, will reportedly continue with the show. More, they are in talks about the new direction of the show.

MBC announced that Kim Tae-ho would be leaving as the show’s director in early February. However, while Kim will not be directing, he will continue as a creator. Moreover, MBC has not discussed is he will also join the production team of another show.

“Infinity Challenge” is a popular variety show aired every Saturday in South Korea. In its evening timeslot, the show regularly garners 13 – 17 percent of Korean viewers, making it the most viewed program during that time.



No. No no no. Nope. Just retire the whole show then. Wouldn't care if PMS left, but who'll watch the show with all of them gone? And to keep Seho? Ugh.

I never really watched Infinite Challenge, but they gave me HOT back, if only momentarily.

I could be overstating myself, but there's no way I see the Korean public watching that show with YJS being gone.

Nope. It's already unfortunate that some original members have left, but for the current original members to leave too? Wonder what will be the decision made.

I used to watch IC religiously from about 2006-2013 and the format of the show seemed so inventive for k-variety at the time, esp with iconic episodes like the deserted island, money bag grab, Thierry Henry, Seoul tour, yes/no luck, etc. All of them minus Jae Suk were messy af but the chemistry with the original 6 comedians (Jae Suk, Myung Soo, Jun Ha, Haha, Hong Chul, Hyung Don, and sometimes Gil and Jun Jin) was what made the show a hit in the first place imo. It started falling off in recent years with the line-up changes and mainstream celeb guest stars who found the top slot too pressuring. Also PD Kim Tae Ho made the show what it was and everyone's pretty loyal to him

I don't think I've ever watched more than 5 minutes of this show (I think it was when IU was on there doing that collab song with PMS), but I'm not sure if this is a good idea? Look how Family Outing 2 failed when they tried to reboot it with a new cast...the OG cast -- YJS, Lee Hyori, KJK, Daesung, etc all had such great chemistry, which I'm sure is the same case with Infinity Challenge.
