KARA’s Heo Young Ji and Guckkasten’s Ha Hyun Woo have confirmed their relationship!

Initial reports revealed that the couple got closer to one another through being fellow panel members on tvN’s “Shadow Singer” from July to November last year. The singers have a 13-year age difference and have reportedly met each other’s parents as well.

On March 1, the singers’ agencies addressed reports about the pair dating and released similar statements saying, “After meeting through mutual friends, Ha Hyun Woo and Heo Young Ji started contacting each other. They recently started having good feelings for one another and are cautiously getting to know each other. Thank you.”

Just once I want a female idol in a relationship with a male celebrity her own age or even, dare I say, a couple years younger. It's literally ALWAYS younger female x 10+ year older male, you can't tell me gender expectations and misogyny don't play a role in that tbh.

Shit, when Taeyeon/Baek broke, people everywhere were calling her a sly fox and a cradle robber even though he was only like three years younger... but those same people will say "Love has no barriers~" when it comes to men nearing their 40s getting with women in their early 20s.

Eh, I don't buy into that because a lot of people say the opposite - that growing up in the limelight tends to stunt maturity, thus the Lindsey Lohans and Justin Biebers of the world. Plus, if this were the case you'd see it equally in both genders rather than almost exclusively younger woman x older man. Kaistal and Khunfany are pm the example that proves the rule because they're the only ones we can name lol.

More than anything, I think growing up as a teen performing for audiences of grown men and having your entire life controlled by adult male CEOs / managers combined with a deeply patriarchal culture probably plays the biggest part tbh.

Yeah, they're like my favorite idol couple lol because they seem like they met under normal circumstances, have a normal age difference, and compatible personalities / interests. Probably sad that I'm now almost at a point of "well she's over 21, as long as they're using birth control I guess it's not -that- bad" stage with relationship announcements. I love Kara/Youngji and also like Guckkasten so while I am still side eyeing the age difference and definitely a member of club "Ugh, men, ageism, etc" I hope they have a nice relationship.
