ROMEO’s Milo allegedly invites underage fan to stay with him at a hotel

Milo of ROMEO, who was most recently seen on ‘MIXNINE‘, has seen a lot of his fansites close recently. This is primarily due to a Dispatch report that he invited an underage fan to stay with him at a hotel next time he visits Japan alone.

The evidence is KakaoTalk texts showing that Milo directly reached out to a fan privately, after which the fan posted the exchanges on social media.


Fan: I can’t trust you.
Milo: *Sends Photos*


Milo: Haneda airport.
Fan: Hmm … around an hour? My house is far so I’ve been staying at a hotel.
Milo: Next time I go to Japan alone, let’s stay at a hotel together.


Fan: You’re much cuter.
Milo: A little cute and pretty and sometimes sexy. You’re mine.



Fan: Even if we can’t play now, it’s great that I can meet you at night next time. I’ve wanted to hug you and now I can. It’s not a dream, right?

Romeo’s company has yet to comment on this. However, Ticket sales for ROMEO's Vol 3 Regular Live in Japan, which was scheduled for 20th Feb, 8PM will be postponed until further notice. An official announcement will be made tomorrow.

i've been following ROMEO since their debut (but didn't bother following their last comeback), so this is a bit of a surprise for me as a fan.

Gross. Some people have been arguing about the girl's age and whether or not it's illegal but looking at those texts she's clearly starstruck. Even if she does end up being 18, I'll still side-eye him for picking someone that clearly idolizes him that much.

According to most sources she is '99er although nowhere in the article we have her age listed , Japan age of consent varies depend on prefectures laws from 13 to 18 (in Tokyo it's 18) and Japan age of adulthood is 18.

If she's a 99er then she's definitely not underaged, so that's weird. Tokyo has one of the highest ages of consent at 18, and I'm pretty sure she's not from Tokyo since she said her home is far from where she's staying (Haneda Airport is in Tokyo). Most prefectures are 16 (the federal age of consent is 13 but I don't think any prefectures are actually that low, the federal low is just outdated). If she's a 99er idk why they'd be reporting she was underage.

I read that some fans are trying to say the girl isn't actually underage in an attempt to save their oppas image, so I'm wondering if that's where the 99er info came from... hm.

Japan seems very confused when it comes to age of adulthood lmao lowering the voting age to 18 but keeping the drinking and smoking age at 20 doesn't make much sense. Very American of them!

Aside from the obvious "he's a gross creep and idols shouldn't date their fans" I'm curious to know how many other girls he has done this to. Often when scandals like this come out about Korean celebs there is only one girl coming forward but as we've learned from Western scandals these guys never do these things just once. So many of these assholes must be going after impressionable girls when they're overseas thinking no one will find out and fans are too keen to forgive this under guise of "oppa just made a mistake that one time". It's predatory behaviour and shouldn't happen at all, period.

I don't think there's anything wrong with idols or celebs dating fans. In this situation if she's in fact underaged then that's not a good look but in general I don't see the problem it's not like a professor dating his student where grades could be leverage or a supervisor at work dating someone who reports to him. I also don't think all fans are impressionable, I think some of them know the score and have a fairly realistic view of what they will and won't get out of it.*shrug*

Hm I don't think I can agree, sorry - if someone is actively looking at their fan base for hookups and dating options when they would do fine outside of it then there's a reason for it and it weirds me out (btw I am assuming this is what he does from experience, if they end up staying together and having a long happy relationship then it is indeed not the type of thing I am referring to), and looking at musicians that sleep with groupies (like the Warped Tour type) they aren't looking to get into a healthy relationship, they target someone that is convenient and easy for them to use, and that doesn't sit right with me (not saying musicians can't have casual hookups but at some point it becomes a pattern).

If you're an idol then you know what kind of fans you might have, how extreme they can get and the incredibly unrealistic ideal image they will often have of you which is an incredibly unhealthy basis for a relationship. A fan might -seem- normal but I can't imagine it being worth the risk if you're an idol especially when you have plenty of great dating options around you already - not to mention the line between idols and fans would ideally not be broken because all hell would break lose when crazy fans are given actual proof of the idea that oppa is actually attainable - or the anger when they realize he didn't pick them and decide to jump ship because of it (with which this dude is royally screwing over the rest of his group). That said bros will be bros and I'm not arguing that a lot of them will try to sleep with girls they find appealing regardless - just that it's a REALLY bad idea

Idk I could write a lot about this but I'm not referring to someone who dates someone who just likes their music in a normal healthy way who they then developed a relationship with, of course you can be a casual fan of someone and end up dating them, but I really don't think their group is at a level where their fan base has a lot of general public casual, normal, older fans like more senior groups do! It seems extremely likely that they met at a fan event or something which I personally find on the "in to deep to date" level. I'm not judging the fan for going for it al all by the way, just him.
