The MBC program, ‘Infinity Challenge’ is under the heat again as netizens ponder through the episode that aired on the 26th titled, ‘Gangs of New York’. Also, it faced a shocking decline in the viewer popularity ratings through this episode.
On the episode of Infinity Challenge that aired on the 26th, the members portrayed an episode where the boss of a Mafia dies and the other playing a psychological game to find out the hidden spy in the branch. How does this connect to the netizens? The problem was that after this episode aired, many netizens fussed if this episode was to remember the death of South Korea’s ex-President, Noh MooHyun.
This was caused by the game objectives involving Noh MooHyun representing number and color. By stating that the “boss” died after being active for 5 years, the players still alive in the game were portrayed with yellow on the black and white screen and the dead players get removed from the game when the yellow is removed from them. Also, the 500 dollar prize money offered to the one who found the spy, made more netizens wonder if they were trying to portray Noh MooHyun.

* “I think Kim TaeHo (producer) is a genius!”

A staff in Infinity Challenge stated that they didn’t mean anything that people were assuming. He also added, “The situation and setting we just followed from Kim TaeHo PD. We didn’t know it would be mixed in with a such things after the broadcast.”

Downfall in the viewer popularity ratings
After 10 months of being on cloud-nine, ‘Infinity Challenge’s’ rating fell comparing to SBS’s ‘Starking’. This happened to be on the 26th, when the ‘Gangs of New York” episode aired. The MBC show gained up to 13.4%, while the SBS show soared with 15.9%.
In addition, ‘Infinity Challenge’ was severely criticized in this episode from the black and white screen, which according to the viewers, was distracting. And more criticism came from the matter involving the activity of the members with Gil missing from all the action and poor acting from Park MyungSoo and Jung JunHa.
