Former "The Unit" contestant and ex-Day6 member Im Junhyeok to have solo debut

Singer-songwriter Lim Jun Hyeok is releasing some new music as a solo artist!

On February 22, Lim Jun Hyeok will release a single album called “Stay” containing two self-penned songs. The singer recently competed on the KBS idol rebooting project program “The Unit” after his departure from DAY6 back in 2016.

During his time on the show, he received praise from mentors such as Jo Hyun Ah and gained a reputation as a singer-songwriter. He wrote and produced both songs on “Stay” himself.

Lim Jun Hyeok is also planning to hold his first solo fan meeting in March to mark the release of his new single.

“Stay” will be released on February 22 at 6 p.m. KST.

no idea; he's kept a pretty low profile since he left day6, and he didn't even get much news coverage while on the unit

He's good looking. It's unfortunate he had (still has?) a messy relationship with a fan that ended up in him leaving the group. I'm sure he's not the first idol to date a fan, but even ignoring the typical fan/idol boundaries and the fact that DAY6 had just debuted and weren't very popular, there's still the potential for an unequal balance in the relationship. Like, I don't think I'm making my thoughts clear, but they weren't very popular so they got to know the few fans they had well, especially b/c they probably met them in more casual settings than most idols. But I was still sad that it forced him out (since i don't know if I really believe that he chose to leave the group). Hope he's matured since and knows better where the line is.

I don't know if there was an official reason or not for his leaving but he had a dating scandal with a 'fan' soon after their debut so that explains it.
