December 2 2017 was the Melon Music Awards and IU won Album of the Year. During her speech IU thanked her friend who she called her muse. When Yoo In Na was asked how this made her feel during a recent interview she replied, "It made me feel happy. It’s not often that you have the opportunity to be mentioned in such a beautiful way on such a big stage like that. There was one time when I almost melted hearing an actress express her feelings for the man she loves during her acceptance speech. Though IU and I are just friends, I got to be that person being talked about this time! It made me happy, and I was so grateful. I hope people who saw that acceptance speech like IU more because of it too."

The actress explained despite their age gap the two of them were friends for life, elaborating "She’s someone I feel the need to look after and care for, but at the same time, she is someone I can lean on when things get rough. We agreed to stay involved in each other’s lives, and enjoy eating lots of good food together for the rest of our lives."

IU's manager Hanteo is a long standing fan of Red Velvet and was excited when on his birthday he could take a photo with Red Velvet. IU teased him about this in IU TV. “After Red Velvet left, his face got super red and he was smiling so widely. I think he was happier that he got to take a photo with Red Velvet than I was to win the Grand Prize. What a special day for Hanteo!”
