SM Entertainment has been plagued with scandal after scandal this year.

With the recent report from Sohu.com claiming that SNSD members were a main factor for Hankyung wanting to leave Super Junior, SM Entertainment has released an official statement that the report was completely fabricated.

On the 27th, SM Entertainment stated:

"The reports regarding SNSD are completely false. It's extremely disappointing and upsetting that such a report would surface between the members of our own family."
In regards to Hankyung's absence on the December 26th year end MBC Music Core special:
"Hankyung is currently in China, most likely it will be difficult for him to attend year end shows."

I love how SM is so quick to defend SNSD, but they'll make us sweat when it comes to Hankyung.

Now I wonder if its because they're more important or if they don't care...

Yeah, this is the [unfortunate] truth :/
They need to make careful steps before they have a metaphorical nuclear bomb launched at them.

Well, it's kind of normal? I mean in hankyung's case there is a lawsuit involved, so they probably need lots of time to discuss with him and his lawyer to release an official statement...

What I wonder is why they didn't do so right away. I understand that it may be because he's all the way in China, but companies still manage to discuss important matters when in different countries. Just curious about it all..

Maybe that after dbsk's lawsuit they decided to be more cautious about their statements? since the court favored jsc they are probably going to do things differently this time... I'm tired of waiting too honestly :/

this.

but, the fact that no official statement has been released hopefully means they're still trying to work things out?

Maybe they can't speak too soon about Han Geng because it is uncertain whether or not it would be in their interests to reveal anything. Whatever they say may have bearings when they go to court, on the other hand, everything about SNSD, if it's a lie it's a lie, if it's true it's true.

I think the least SM could've done was say that they're currently working on handling the situation with Hankyung. The fact that they didn't really say anything about it all bothers me. :/

They're quick to do this to clear SNSD's reputation in China for their (SM's) own sake. China is one of places in the list where the girls are going to have their concert, no?

it's one thing if you're suing the parent company for an unfair contract, but another if you're accusing labelmates as the reason you're leaving. how fun would it have been if jaechunsu accused X member of suju/shinee for their lawsuit? sm would've jumped in to defend the artist too, and then tend to the lawsuit later. this isn't really about snsd getting special treatment.

its not about them getting special treatment. the same things could be said if it was any artist under SM that were put in the false article. But the fact that SM quickly denied the rumor, yet continues to be silent about what will happen to Hankyung/SJM. I know its a lawsuit and it takes more time, but they could have the decency to say that they're taking care of it rather than make themselves look bad by not saying anything and letting things surface. if they had said something, articles such as this probably wouldn't have popped up.
idk. SME isn't on my good side atm.

But they already said they are trying to solve things ~peacefully~ what more do you want them to say? These things aren't solved over night.

actually, if you can find where they said that, that'd be great cause I'm lost in the sea of articles pertaining to this. I think I went over it :0

Eh, that's all it said and it has been mentioned in more than one article :/

"On the other hand, after Hankyung intiated litigation, SM stated their stand that "for the sake of Super Junior and Hankyung, they are in talks to resolve the problem"."
