People say quiet audience during performance is normal for Japan. I don't really know myself. They were making noise during the showcase tour, from what I saw. But then that's an entirely different atmosphere.

I went to Fuji rock festival in Nigata and while I was going crazy with Gorillaz and The XX the audience was just chill and enjoying from the chairs they brought there lol

Japanese audiences are known to be super chill that is why Jaejong in particular likes to perform in Japan since the audiences there appreciate his live singing and actually listen to him.

Regarding your question, MS is a longest running and the most popular music show in Japan and if I'm not mistaken, was shown during prime hours so the audiences are needed to be super polite and chill. But other music shows, the audiences will show more emotions and clap all the way through the performances.

The audience is sually quite calm and only claps when the perf is finished (I mostly know from watcign Arashi or K8 perf)

Idgaf about Candy Pop. It’s just overall bad and their Japanese stuff is pretty subpar to their korean. I went crazy with Heart Shaker perfection for their last comeback. Also, it’s great that my girls are singing live and sounding good. It ain’t an easy task to sing Twice song with such high notes.

Lol mte, I freaking adore Heart Shaker and I basically forgot about Candy Pop's existence till this post. The MV basically told me it was for a much younger audience than their typical Korean audience so I don't mind skipping it (still young, but I can see why different ages enjoy it while Candy Pop seemed like it was really for children)

Heart Shaker really saved last year musically. I didn't like Signal and while Likey could be a great song, the bad chorus brings it down a notch.

There's a strong rumor going that JYP will be producing the next title track, and I don't know why but I'm feeling so optimistic this time lol

They've gotten a lot better this year, since they've spent more time there than in SK. Jihyo and Dahyun used to be the better ones at Japanese, Tzuyu is pretty awful from what I can tell though :) It is her third language already, and she's a bit awkward with Korean still even.
