“Along With The Gods” Becomes 3rd Biggest Box Office Hit In Korean Film History

“Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds” has reached a new impressive milestone!

As of January 22 at 3 p.m. KST, the film’s total number of viewers reached 13,542,327. This number exceeds the total viewership of 13,414,200 for “Veteran,” which was previously the third most viewed Korean film in theaters.

Just a little over a month after its release on December 20, “Along with the Gods” is now in third place. It is only beat by 2014 films “Roaring Currents” (17,615,152 admissions) and “Ode to My Father” (14,262,498 admissions) in first and second, respectively.

The movie is about the death of an ordinary fireman named Ja-hong (Cha Tae-hyun) and Gang-rim (Ha Jung-woo), the head grim reaper who escorts Ja-hong to the afterlife, where he will assign a public defender to represent him in 7 trials in 49 days to find out how he lived his life and where he ought to spend the rest of eternity. It also stars Joo Ji Hoon and Kim Hyang Gi.

Watched it last Friday. Thought it was brilliant. I'm not someone who watch the same movie twice at the cinema but i almost break that principle if i'm not currently broke. Joo Jihoon is too funny in this. Nobody should ever make Cha Taehyun cry. I was expecting it to be draggy with a slow intro at the start cos it's a 2.19 hour movie but nope, it didn't happened. I forgot if there was ever a Korean movie like that.

I was dragged into watching the movie bcs my sister wanted to see Kyung Soo, but I enjoyed the movie until the end, it's funny, touching, with some actions, it's really good :)

Congrats for the crew and casts! I enjoyed the movie. All the effect and cg are nice and even though theres a major change from the webtoon, it doesnt lack and for me the change is indeed necessary. Im tired of crying while watching this, but 10/10 will reccomend to others.

I just watched this yesterday, and I'm still thinking about it this morning. This was really good, special effects were great, Joo Ji-hoon was too funny in this, and there were a couple of heartbreaking scenes that made me cry. Someone I know who watched it said it dragged a little in parts, and I was looking out for that, but nope, no such thing, from beginning to end, it was absorbing.

I really miss Ha Jung Woo in movies so I really cant wait to see this. Kinda sad since it toppled Veteran which I extremely enjoy and it probably will suppressed Ode to My Father soon which is NOOOOOOOO.

But in the other hand, I'm happy for him and the movie. He deserved all the success.

Me too. While I probably will super like this movie (when I finally managed to watch it :P), I feel like these 2 movies should stay on its place since they really deserve it.

But Along with the God has raked so much in just a month of its release so it is a matter of time before it suppressed Ode to My Father in the box office DX

I bawled watching this and left the studio with puffed eyes. It's a great movie, this coming from someone who hates emotional, tear-jerking movie. Worth my 2hours and my 5bucks watching it.
