2017 was a crap year in almost every sense, but I'm really excited for 2018. I decided to do a 180 and got into nursing school :) I'm already in my late 20s so I was insanely scared to start over again, and while tbh I'm still not 100% sure this is my calling in life, it's been a long, long time since I've felt like I'm in the right path. Here's hoping for the best!

Anyway, what are your new year's resolutions, omonians? Mine are really small things, like following a skincare routine (the Skinfood Yuja Water C Cream has been doing wonders for my dehydrated skin!), practice my English and watching a new movie at least once a month.

Theres stray cats that always play to my house so Im giving them food but keep them outside (I live with my uncles fam and they dont like them inside). One of them sick and i take her to vet. Vet give me meds but I cant get her to take the meds. Im stressed and just crying bcs i cant handle her but i dont want her to sick either :'( :'(

It's already great that you took her to the vet <3 how have you tried getting her to eat her meds? the little demon I tried to adopt wouldn't eat hers so I had to hide them in wet food. I don't really have advises though, I'm lucky that the one I currently take care of is doing fine. I hope your cat will be ok :(

Happy 2018! I just got back last night from spending 2 weeks at home with my family for Christmas and it was great. Lots of card games and HGTV and hanging out with my 2 year old nephew, coming back to work sucks.

Last year I had a goal to read 45 books and ended up reading 59, bumped my goal to 55 this year. Hopefully I'll get into a good reading groove and find some interesting books. I started The Hate U Give on my flight last night and am really enjoying it so far. I hadn't thought I watched that many dramas last year but I finished 21 and am working on 6 more at the moment. Just Between Lovers is a fantastic drama, I'm really loving it.

My aunt and grandmother are living next to some pieces of shit who have managed to poison almost every single pet they have ever had in the last 2-3 years. Most of the pets were stray cats that just happened to stay with them because they live in the countryside so it's easy for cats to roam around from house to house but in November my aunt got 2 puppies and they were so cute omg and one of them looked like a miniature chubby Golden Retriever <3 and those fucking animals poisoned both of them in December and the chubby Golden Retriever didn't survive :( A couple of days ago I was talking to my mom and she told me that the 2 cats my aunt had died too :( Good thing they managed to give the little kittens away in time. I am SO outraged I want to go and set their house on fire! The police can't do anything without proof even though they've been called. People can be so fucking cruel. The best part is that the old man from that house is my grandmother's cousin and his son-in-law is pulling all the strings. Why can't they all just drop dead?

It's so horrible when this happens :( my grandmother's neighbour was also doing it, apparently he was a hunter and wouldn't want cats roaming around. He even managed to kill a mother while all the babies were at my grandma's and not weaned yet :( His bad, one of the kitty who stayed at my grandma (she gave most of the kitties to friends/cousins) became the best hunter, able to bring hares and rather big birds for his size! to my grandma (so she would cook them for the cat lmao my grandma had no shame).
I'm so sorry for your aunt it's awful :(

The venue's website was crowded lmao they were supposed to sell at 10 but only managed at 12. Mymusictaste apparently pre-sold places two days ago (since VIP places/signing session passes were already not available?) but it never worked for me so I was getting SO. NERVOUS. I wanna see my satanic babies! Anyway, I HAVE MY PLACE NOW!!!!! I'LL SEE THEM!!!! I'm so happy. Their album arrived last week (kpopmart was reaaaaaally long to send them, they're long for Europe already but this was more than usual) so I'm going to celebrate by playing it super loud lol. 2018 is starting well!!!

Mental health, and its challenges, have been coming up a lot in my friend circle the last few months. Some recent entries and the discussion have helped me be more supportive/nuanced as a friend. Sometimes the comments read very black & white, as if there is only one interpretation or approach, but seeing the varying viewpoints help me to do better. Thank you.

I officially have Olympic tickets, in addition to my plane tickets. I’m trying to convince myself to Airbnb instead of only hotels ($$$) but hotels have such wonderful, self-controlled heating. And more contained showers.

This month I’m working from home, but I only have about 10 hours of paid work a week. I hope I can be productive with some personal shit, starting today! It’s the month of detox/diet and I think my brain is finally ready to function without heaps of sugar. I am going to enjoy losing the last extra 10 pounds I am carrying before I start traveling.

Finally, I am so ready to gossip, gossip, gossip about fun, petty, only slightly-mean spirited stuff. Light light-hearted, inter-group competition, who’s the best type shit, or something. Come on 2018, give us goodies.

oh yeah, that shit makes me break up with friends. I have now self-selected into a group of semi-commitment phobes, so I rarely see the partners. Well, except one long term friend who always brings her kids, so we barely see each other despite living two blocks apart.

I would flat out, nicely, tell them. You're friends with them, not their partners, and need a little solo time. If they can't handle it, then just wait until they're single again and they'll be back.

Also, I've become obsessed with Knowing Bros and ended up watching old Heechul videos, and I got all sad because he seemed so happy, and while he's happy now, it's definitely not the same type of happiness you have as a carefree youth. I felt really bad for him that Hangeng had to leave. It's also really weird seeing him interact with the other SuJu members, cause I mostly know him from his solo activities.

And getting into Knowing Bros has also made me gain a huge crush on Min Kyunghoon. He's so cute! but he also sometimes says some things that make me go a little wtf. I wish more stuff from when he first promoted on varieties ten years ago was translated. He was so pretty. Also, he and Heechul are really good singers (I like their vocal color and their ability to emote), and I'm fascinated by the gap in their variety image and their on-stage presence. It's so alluring to see them be serious when I'm used to seeing them joke around.

Well. One of my new year's resolutions is to make some friends IRL. Wish me luck. It's hard when all of my classes are online. I should probably find a group of coders to hang out with, since that's the sort of thing I'm studying, but I'm still shy about that.

I also want to join a writing group, but I'm not good at convincing myself to write things that aren't fanfiction.

My other new year's resolution is to make more deliberate efforts to listen to music made by women. The end of year Billboard charts (which I always ignore, but BTS was on them this year l o l) were an awkward sausagefest.
