Happy Face Entertainment confirms Dal Shabet Serri, Ah Young, and Subin's contracts have ended and they will leave the company

-Their contracts recently expired, everyone except Woohee (whose contract might not have expired yet), did not renew with the company
-Happyface will continue to manage Serri for The Unit until elimination/making the group
-This decision was made after long series of discussions with the members
- Dal Shabet will not disband as Happy Face is discussing possibilities with the members about what could happen
- Ah Young, Serri, and Subin all posted letters on their Instagram pages, as well as the official Dal Shabet Twitter account

I'm not sure if we're allowed to edit this for updates since there's been several but if we can, I'll add in the updates in the morning (by then I'm sure the translation for their letters will be posted, if it's not on a separate post by then)

As I said on l'eddit, I knew the day was coming since when Jiyul and Gaeun left it was back on Dec 5 two years back so I assumed that it would be around now when the news would be coming

They were my first kpop group, along with f(x), so it's sad to see this era of kpop be almost completely dead for me 😭 and none of these new groups are as interesting, I might stick to Loona and April but nothing can fill this void for me now (maybe jpop/SHN48 group since im used to people leaving groups and new members added ctfu)

I wish Woohee the best in The Unit and makes it in, hopefully Subin and Serri continue releasing solo material, 1 full albums, a best of, a Japanese single, and 10 minis, for a "lower tier" group, they really did that 💨

Anyways, my fave song from them will be Bling Bling and To Be, Not To Be 😭...their intro and the song after from their only full album remain legendary, what the other girls shoulda done, etc

hopefully they can learn from this to do better with Dreamcatcher, good luck to them, they'll need it

Considering how Naturalness was structured as a mini and how reflective Someone like You was of their videos/career that we even made it to one more mini surprised me.

Dal Shabet had SO many bops but after their ascension was halted they never truly recovered. While I'm sure BBB will be subsequently posted instead I want to think of their namesake track - back when the group was advertised as ALL of them being both rappers & singers - and wonder what could've been:

And I loved how the girls all seemed to remain relatively close with ex members too. Wishing them more luck on these future ventures whether they are together in some way or apart.

Sad but expected. I was already surprised when the four remaining members kept promoted (and granted us bops as well!) as I was expecting the company to silently stopped promoting them (well... it def happened but not immediatly at least). It's a bit sad that they didn't have the kind of ressurrection Nu'est did with the Unit but they did release a lot of minis and good songs for a low-tier group, they had a good run.
Woohee seems in a good position to be in the Unit and I need Subin to be picked by a good company so she can keep releasing her solos. I hope Ahyoung will make it as an actress even if, honestly, I don't really know how she's doing lol. Idk what Serri will do, she's not doing as well as Woohee on the Unit.

Me too. Happyface ain't perfect but I honestly don't know what else they could have done, it was so crazy. And we still have fewer coed collabs than before it happened.
Also I don't remember B1A4 or their company really doing something? But I got really turned off B1A4 at that time so my memory about them is a bit blurry.
Serri especially had it hard and it made me sad how her letter thanked fans for standing with her through hard times when the other two letters were overall positive

Even though I wasn't a loyal fan in general, they really had some really solid comebacks, especially later in their career! Joker, Fri.Sat.Sun, Someone Like U, Be Ambitious, and the underrated Have,Don't Have (I mean they made including Cartman saying 'Bitch!' Sound cute lmao) Also they're the original creator of Love Shake, which introduced me to future Dreamcatcher :)
