King Daniel to take temporary break from activities due to illness

It has been revealed that Wanna One’s Kang Daniel was rushed to the hospital due to severe dizziness and a high fever, and will therefore be sitting out from activities temporarily to recover.

On December 6, it was reported that Kang Daniel had been suffering from a high fever and dizziness from the day before. He had gone to the hospital on December 5 but as his condition did not improve, his schedules for today were all cancelled and the idol headed to the hospital for a follow-up medical examination.

A YMC Entertainment representative confirmed the news and stated, “We will be making sure that Kang Daniel gets as much rest as possible so that he has a full recover before any upcoming performances. He has received the necessary medical treatment and is currently resting in the dorms. Luckily, he has no scheduled broadcasted appearances in the immediate future.”

Regarding an event that will be held later today, the representative stated that a final decision had not been made yet. They explained, “Because this will be an event where the members meet face-to-face with fans, Kang Daniel has a strong desire to at least be at the venue and greet his fans. However, his health comes first so we will be monitoring his condition before making a decision.”

agencies should be responsible for their artists, should be the ones telling them NO even if they want to do something while sick. while I don't think YMC is blatantly lying when they say he wanted to go to the fansign, they can still manipulate and make him feel bad for not attending because his fans might feel disappointed, even mention contracts problems. it's a power dynamic and I'll always side-eye these agencies that "let" the final decision to the idol. they're the boss, they should say "no, you won't go".

I saw a tweet saying that he was apologetic and saying he was sorry for not taking proper care of his health and that he will recover fast and fans were all like "recover fast". this sounded so wrong for me? like I believe fans want him to be well above anything, but I feel like they should be saying something like "don't worry, it's ok, take your time and rest"? I might be too extra here and it might be an idiom/translation thing, but it just sounded wrong to me.

all the boys have been working non-stop since p101 final, so I can't even imagine how hard it must be for daniel that is in everything they did + solo stuff. seeing how much he just wanted to sleep during wanna one go and not even eat really hurt me.

no ia with you re: that one "recover fast" tweet it kind of rubbed me the wrong way when i saw it :( like idk i dont think the fans were trying to say like "hurry up and recover so you can go back to working yourself half to death" but id really rather he takes as much time as he needs to rest and recover fully (wishful thinking w/ ymc lmao).. these boys are being worked to the bone n daniel especially has been run absolutely ragged

exactly. pretty sure they didn't mean "hurry up we want to see you no matter what", but they could still use another way to tell him they just want him to get better. poor choice or words imo.

I don't hold any hope for ymc. this agency is milking every coin they can and even though we always knew this would happen, it's still infuriating. and ymc makes things even worse with how they go to the press telling things theys shouldn't like where the mv would be filming (and leading stalkers to there), how they don't properly address fans terrible behavior, calling their trip to japan a vacation when they're there filming for wanna go. kpop agencies are all shit in some way, but ymc is just so bad that it really annoys that they managed to have a contract with mnet and make tons of money with IOI and W1. and to top that, they still let their biggest money maker ever run around looking like shit, while playing the "he really wanted to see his fans" card. ugh....
