Korean actress Song HyeGyo is confirmed to take part in the upcoming Hong Kong film director Wong Kar-wai movie titled “The Grand Master” (tentative title).
On Dec 21, according to Chinese portal site Sina, the pretty actress has confirmed her participation in the movie.
The movie is about biography of Ip Man, the renowned martial artist who famously trained the teenage Bruce Lee (via slashfilm). Besides Song HyeGyo, top stars like Tony Leung and Zhang Ziyi are doing the movie as well.
In addition, Song HyeGyo is scheduled to start the shooting early next year.

DISCUSSION: What is your favourite WKW movie? When I found out WKW was going to do a movie about Ip Man, I'm all.. WHAAAAAAT. But I think it'll be interesting to see how it turns out.

"2046" was my first Wong Kar Wai film and I still love it. I still haven't gotten around to watching "In the Mood For Love" I've heard it's really good though

Date: 2009-12-22 12:31 am (UTC)My top WKW films are Chungking, Happy Together, In the Mood for Love, and Fallen Angels. Fallen Angels in particular really grabbed me the first time I saw it. It's just so wonderfully shot! I haven't been as moved by his recent work... I actually fell asleep at some point during 2046. I was mortified that I'd done that, so I re-watched it, but I didn't feel that it was of the same caliber as his older body of work.
