"Nothing to Lose" Previews

Upcoming legal romance Nothing to Lose is just about ready to air, and in the below teaser, we see the first meeting between the leads, an impulsive young woman who begins her career as a judge in order to discover the truth of her brother’s secret, who happens to lack book smarts, and the intelligent, principled judge who rejected using the power of his background to get to his position.

Park Eun-bin plays the judge who is so hot-headed that she throws off her robes in the middle of a trial because of her frustration at the criminal defendant. In the teaser, she runs into a door that Yeon Woo-jin, the cool-headed judge, was opening. Perhaps the incident leaves her flustered, because when he takes her pulse later, he remarks that her heart is still beating very fast.

There’s a moment of embarrassment when he flings his robe back and she blurts out that he shouldn’t wear them that way, and he brushes her bangs aside saying that she’s the one wearing his robes.

She regrets her impulsive actions when she threw off her robes during the trial, and swears (sarcastically) that if she ever does that again, she’s his woman. Later in the library, he asks, “Did you mean that, about being my woman…?” But she just holds up a USB and says, “This is the beginning.”

In the drama, BESTie's Haeryung plays Jin Sera, a beautiful and intelligent law school student who is also the heiress to a conglomerate. Dongha plays the “Mad Dog” from the Seoul Provincial Prosecutors’ Office’s violent crimes division. Similar to Yeon Woo-jin’s character, Dongha was also born into privilege. He’s cute and full of aegyo to the woman he loves, a good son to his mother, and a warm support for his friends, but in front of murderers he’s as harsh as a grim reaper, and in the courtroom, he’s strict and sharp about his work. Lee Deok-hwa and Kim Hae-sook also star.

This has been a weak year for dramas...

It is a great year for Kdramas imo as Circle and Secret Forest are released this year. Both dramas are easily the best produced kdramas in term of writing, directing and editing I have witnessed in my 15 years in watching Kdramas.

The insurgence of new writers in the industry that didnt actually follow the normal cliche and offer creative writing have really upped the quality that Kdramas has to offer in general.

Maybe I need to step out of my comfort zone. The 2 you mentioned weren’t even on my radar. But I guess my comment was mostly aimed at all of these horrible court dramas being released.

If its going to be anything like Witch's Court, then I have to pass since the legal technicalities and their court room scenes have been killing me softly with how borderline terrible they are. OTL

I have realized I'm a very basic K-drama watcher. I liked the trailers and I like both the actor and actress. So I will watch at least one or two episodes to see if I like it. (I still have other dramas to finish watching that I had put on the back burner since I was watching to many, and since most that I was watching have just finished or will be in the next week or two, now is the time to catch and try something new).

i watched the first episode and the only thing i enjoyed was dongha's aegyo lol. it's suspicious partner 2.0 basically, super dumb.
