Tiffany talks about life in LA as an acting student (CECI Korea December issue)

Tiffany of Girls’ Generation has given an update on her life since leaving SM Entertainment!

The star is currently living in LA as an acting student. In a recent pictorial and interview with CeCi magazine, she shared, “I’ve been going to school and taking acting lessons since September. I’m never late to class, and I bring coffee, almonds, and bananas with me everyday. I’ve consistently worked on some music, too.”

When asked how she felt about returning to LA, she answered, “I feel like I can be my natural self here. I think it’s because my family’s here and it’s where I began everything.”

She also opened up about her decision to go into acting, saying, “Rather than becoming a worldwide star, I want to become a true artist. Back when I debuted, it was hard for me to look like an artist. But the fact that I’m doing an interview right now makes me feel like I’m truly here as an artist.”

“People say it’s hard for an Asian to enter the American entertainment industry. But actually, nothing’s been easy so far. It wasn’t easy promoting as a member of Girls’ Generation. I just do my best, and I believe that what comes true depends on how much you believe. Everything the members and I had dreamed of eventually came true, and right now, I’m in the process of creating a new Tiffany. Instead of wasting my time worrying, I’d rather use that time to practice acting,” she expressed.

I honestly can't imagine her as an actress at all, especially not in american stuff? Maybe she will surprise me, but I think shes more suited for Korean side character drama tropes.

I had no doubt her family was a big factor in her decision to leave SM. Honestly, she didn't really have anything else to accomplish in Korea so I'm glad she's found something fulfilling to do post kpop.

I think she’d be good for Netflix sort of shows; her huge following would certainly sweeten the deal since she’s an already established celebrity, but I can’t really see her as a film actress (if that’s what she’s aiming for). Still, hope the best for her.

It's a really good mindset to have! I like this interview.
She looks really relaxed and happy in the last instagram updates, and while I'm a bit sad that she won't give us another mini album for a long time, I hope she finds success in acting! Maybe having the time to really focus on learning to act (which can be hard when you have to make time to keep being a pop superstar) will help her move on. Her popularity as a member of SNSD will definitively help her in the beginning.

I've never really liked her back when she was in snsd, but I really admire her drive to succeed and how hardworking she is. Moving all the way to Korea, learning a new language and being picked for snsd - wow. I mean, she's the definition of going out there and doing what it takes to achieve your dreams, no matter how hard the process may be.

People have alw said they can't imagine her acting, but I totally can. I think she does comedy pretty actually! All those K-SNL skits were proof of that.

She also seems more relaxed back home as well. Though it does make me wonder if this means that she has left snsd and Korea for good? Here's wishing her all the best! I really hope she succeeds! :)
