Yoon Eun Hye apologized for her plagiarism controversy two years ago saying, “I didn’t explain or handle the situation wisely in a timely manner.”

On November 16, a source from Yoon Eun Hye’s agency revealed, “[We] should have explained the design plagiarism suspicions quickly at the time, but we weren’t able to,” adding “As an agency, we failed to handle the situation in a timely manner, it was ultimately our poor handling of the issue that was the biggest mistake.”

In 2015, Yoon Eun Hye won first place on Chinese TV fashion program “Goddess’ Fashion” for her white coat, which she made with a stylist. However, she was soon accused of plagiarism as the coat was similar to the design of a Korean designer. She was given a hard time by the public for her poor explanation and late explanation regarding the issue.

Yoon Eun Hye appeared on tvN’s “Dear My Human” on November 15, marking her first Korean reality show appearance in two years since her controversy. As the program is about showing one’s daily life with their pet, it was reported Yoon Eun Hye did not mention the controversy separately during filming.

1. [+2,551, -26] Only now?

2. [+2,332, -24] Is she seriously just apologizing because it benefits her now??

3. [+2,023, -26] Way too late

4. [+101, -2] Uhh, she's the one who went on a Chinese show and cried about how Korea is witch hunting her about plagiarism, what is she saying now?

5. [+93, -3] Look at her running her mouth now that she wants to get back on Korean TV

6. [+67, -1] Her intentions are so obvious ㅋㅋ are Chinese shows no longer casting her?

7. [+57, -2] I honestly thought she was fully set on quitting her Korean career for good with how adamant she was about her plagiarism controversy in China even though it was plain to the eye to anyone that she had plagiarized. Now she's coming back to apologize? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

8. [+57, -1] Seems she's short on cash and not landing any gigs so she's throwing out this apologize but it's so random. Why now? It only makes her image worse...

9. [+53, -1] She was popular in China back then and making a ton of money so she had no reason to apologize or clarify in Korea at the time. Now that she needs to work in Korea but people keep bringing it up, she's forced to put out a clarification which really doesn't clarify anything at all.

10. [+52, -1] What's worse about this statement is that she never explicitly clarifies whether she plagiarized or not... just beats around the bush and hopes people will do the same. She never actually admits to it.

Never forget "Please don't use my name to promote your collection".
I used to love her but after the scandal I realized it was all just residuals from X-man and Coffee Prince. What has she done since that wasn't a flop? So now I'm completely over her and don't give a fuck *shrug*.

Lol I just accidentally commented on that original post.

She did handle it really poorly but I mean it’s not like she killed someone. People (usually men) have been redeemed for a lot worse.

i still can't help but to have a soft spot for YEH. her response was obviously nagl, but she shouldn't still be facing such backlash years later. i saw a few clips of the TVN show and i loved her home.

Maybe if she had actually apologized. But she denied everything, said designers were using her name to promote their work, went on several Chinese shows complaining about a "which hunt". Now that she wants back in Korean ent. her agency apologizes for the way they handled the fall out, not for what caused it.

I think she did apologize after her regretable first reaction of "Don't use my name to promote yourself", I remember seeing a post of her bowing and asking for forgiveness on the airport when there was press waiting for her, but netizen were already saying it was too late because Ithink it was months after.
I still can't understand her reaction, she's a veteran in the industry, it was so stupid, I guess there's some truth on what netizens are saying there, maybe she felt safe because she was advansing well in the chinese entertainment industry at that time, because the arrogant response she gave is against everything that is damage control in kor ent
