jTBC‘s ‘Shinhwa Broadcast‘ has reached its highest viewer rating to date.

On June 24th, AGB Nielson Media Research released the viewer rating for the June 23rd episode of ‘Shinhwa Broadcast’ in which it amassed a rating of 1.87%.
As this is a cable TV program, it is considered an impressive feat.

This week’s viewer rating for ‘Shinhwa Broadcast’ also marked the show’s fourth consecutive week of reaching a viewer rating of over 1%. At this rate, could 2% be far off?

The June 2rd episode of ‘Shinhwa Broadcast’ featured ‘Vacation Channel – The God of MT Part 2′ in which the Shinhwa members pulled a hidden camera show against their leader Eric.  Furthermore on this episode, Junjin gave a heartwarming message to Eric after the Shinhwa members finished their hidden camera show.

‘Shinhwa Broadcast’ is a TV program created by the legendary idol group, Shinhwa, who has made a name for themselves in the entertainment industry by staying together as a group for over 14 years.

Sports Seoul's Interview at Super Junior's Dorm


"It has really been a long while since we're gathered like this." The Super Junior members gathered together at their dorm for the Sports Seoul interview. From left to right: Leeteuk, Donghae, Eunhyuk, Shindong, Sungmin, Siwon, Ryeowook, and Yesung. Amongst the nine members who are doing activities, Kyuhyun had to film for a broadcast and was thus unable to be present on that day.

The K-Pop wave is sweeping across the world. K-Pop songs, with its unique performance and stylish melody which cannot be found anywhere else, is spreading its influence not only in Asia, but also in the North American, South American, European, and Middle Eastern regions. Amongst the many idol singers who are leading the K-Pop influence, SM Entertainment’s Super Junior is the one spearheading it. Having debuted 8 years ago in the year 2005, they have captured the hearts of fans worldwide through their songs and performances which can be easily followed by anyone at all, as well as their friendly image. In acknowledgment of these contributions, they received the ‘Daesang’ accolade at the 21st High Seoul Music Awards’ that was organized by Sports Seoul in January this year.

In order to commemorate Sports Seoul’s 27th Founding Anniversary on the 22nd of June, we went in search for the ‘Representative Star of K-Pop’, Super Junior’s dorm. How exactly are the living conditions of the most popular idols? Super Junior’s fans, as well as fans worldwide who are interested in K-Pop, will surely be curious. To unravel the fans’ curiosity, Sports Seoul has recently made a surprise visit to Super Junior’s dorm.

Recently, Sports Korea conducted a survey for their 27th anniversary. The survey was titled, “The K-Pop Idols of 2012…We Ask 100 Idols.” Sports Korea asked currently active 100 idols in the following categories:

Best Vocals, Best Looks, Best Body, Best Acting Idol, Best Variety Program Idol, Best Post-Lee Hyori, Best Post-Rain, Best Representative of K-Pop, Best Performers, and Best Harmony.

Wonder Girls get mobbed at their own "flash mob" performance and Sohee gets lost

True to their reputation as the k-pop world’s most relatable idols, the Wonder Girls recently scheduled an event to perform their latest hit “Like This” at a public mall with an open audience of spectators. In a hilarious turn of events, the fans proved to be more than security could handle.

As the video report by SSTV reveals, crowds of passerbys immediately formed when news spread about the performance, and the Wonder Girls were led to an open platform at the center of the mall by security.

As the girls kicked off their signature performance of “Like This”, the throng of spectators surrounding the quintet began slowly pressing closer in. Within the first minute, the performance was forced to come to a halt because the girls were so cramped that they couldn’t dance. As the song continued to blare in the background, the video shows the girls laughing as they’re surrounded by cameras and people trying to do the dance.

Once security was able to maintain crowd control, four members returned to the stage and Yubin announced onstage that Sohee had been lost in the chaos. As the girls film a greeting message later on, the clip shows Sohee safely emerging from the crowd to join the girls. With the quintet intact, the Wonder Girls then give the performance a second try, this time under the watchful eyes of security.

Uncleanly Idols, A-JAX, Find Maggots in Lunch Boxes

Girl group Kara‘s newly debuted little brothers, A-JAX, recently shared a story about finding maggots in a few lunch boxes given to them by their fans.

The boys told a reporter at M!Countdown‘s backstage on June 21, “Not long ago, we found something interesting. We found hundreds of maggots because in some of our lunch boxes given by our fans.”

Leader Hyunggon added, “Recently, our fans gifted us with personally made lunch boxes. They even prepared lunch boxes for all of our staff members and charmingly wrote notes in ours so we weren’t able to throw the lunch boxes away after we were done eating. Therefore, we brought our lunch boxes back to our dorms, and 2 to 3 days later, we saw bugs started flying around.”

“When we opened the lunch boxes, we found maggots crawling around. We had unvoluntarily witnessed the maggots evolution. We ended up just saving the notes that the fans wrote us and throwing out the lunch boxes. It was a really funny experience,” he concluded.

Their 6th album, "Sexy, Free & Single," is set to be released on July 1st online, before it is available offline on July 4th.

Although SM Entertainment has expressed that the concept of the photos is "Beautiful Man," some fans have been speculating that there is another underlying theme to the images. Some guesses include greek mythology, due to the clothes and makeup worn by the members in the photos, as well as an environmental theme, as the photos feature flowers and tree branches.

She’z releases new single, “Night and Day”

Rookie girl group She’z recently debuted with their track, “My Way.” Their debut track was very refreshing and showed the girls were extremely talented, as every member could arguably be the lead vocalist.

Although She’z debut was overshadowed by larger, more popular artists, they are without a doubt one of the most promising rookies to debut this year and are an industry favorite.

They are now back with a new single release titled, “Night and Day”. This new slow tempo song is beautiful and shows off their true vocal capabilities. Check it out below!

Actor Gong Yoo has teenage fans now thanks to the drama "Big"

Gong Yoo is currently acting out an eighteen-year-old teenager named Kang Kyeongjoon who possessed the body of perfect doctor Seo Yoonjae through a car accident in the KBS 2TV drama "Big".

Rough and rebellious and honest expression of feeling is Kang Kyeongjoon's uniqueness.

On the episode of the drama on the 18th, Gil Da-ran (Lee Min-jeong) had a wedding photo shoot with Kang Kyeongjoon possessing the body of Seo Yoonjae who, as she found out, was planning on leaving her.

When she said that this was so that she could leave a memory with Seo Yoonjae, Kang Kyeongjoon was offended and kissed her to leave her a memory of him.

This happy-go-lucky and youthful image as well as the toughness and cuteness is appealing to teenagers. Gong Yoo is appealing to the younger generation with his eighteen-year-old act in the body of a thirty-year-old man.

Gong Yoo's agency told OSEN, "Gong Yoo has more teenage fans now. His previous romantic comedies were watched by those in their 20~30s and the movie "The Crucible" was watched by many in their 40~50s but these days, teenagers seems to be attracted to him".

Now that he has fans in all age levels from the teens to the 50s, Gong Yoo appears as nineteen-year-old Kang Kyeongjoon soon.
