For the June issue of Elle magazine, she shot a photo spread for the clothing brand, Decadence. Instead of her usual chic and edgy look, Kim Min-hee opted for a more natural and comfortable look for this shoot. She revealed many trendy but wearable clothing along with printed feminine dresses. Kim Min-hee matched the outfit with flat shoes, completing her casual yet refreshing summer look. If you’re sighing of frustration, expecting to see another typical new K-pop boy group waiting to “blow your mind”, I assure you that this one will not be your average one.

This new group will be named Teen Top, and will be consisted of six members chosen through various open auditions. According to reports, the group has already been approved of their talent through an upcoming program at MTV, titled Vice Guide to Everything. This show has served as a judge to decide on the group’s capabilities in music, and their possibilities of success once they officially enter the field. Vice Guide to Everything also put a spotlight on Korea’s training system on idol groups by actually visiting the country.

T.O.P. Media revealed, “This program, which introduces Teen Top for the first time, will include in-depth evaluation on the training process the boys have gone through, including dancing lessons, vocal lessons, foreign language lessons, mime lessons, and etiquette lessons. Interviews with people in charge of casting, training, producing, and marketing will also be shown in the program.”

According to T.O.P. Media, MTV’s producer Jessie Juke had much interest in Teen Top, that he has decided to visit Korea once again to film the group’s activities once they debut. His initial intentions were to only capture the group’s systematic preparation process in prior to debut.

Vice Guide to Everything will begin its promotions U.S.wide starting this summer, and will be broadcast starting from August at MTV.

TVXQ Trio’s Worldwide Album!

TVXQ’s three members JaeJoong, JunSu and YooChun, who are currently entangled in a lawsuit with South Korea’s major entertainment company, SM, have plans to produce a new album in the United States of America. This album will be released in August this year.

According to media reports, there is a possibility that the trio has secretly formed an agreement with a music-related personnel in America, and this new album is set to be released worldwide. The report also stated that the new album will be produced with the best production team. Well-known Korean composer, Kim Hyung Sik, and one of America’s leading music producer, Timerland, along with other famous names has been linked to the production of this album.

A relevant personnel of the new album expressed, “Regarding the new album, we will be releasing it through a well-known U.S music company.” However, while this album might be shipped worldwide, its sales are targeted mainly within the respective Asian countries. TVXQ’s trio plan to fly over to America this month, and this trip is predicted to begin discussions about the album and recording sessions.

To this prediction, the personnel who works alongside the trio is tight-lipped, and is only willing to reveal that, “Currently, there are plans to produce a new album, and there will be an invitation for Timberland to be the producer. However, regarding other issues, we are not at liberty to announce it as it is still in the process of planning.”

Even though Xiah Junsu has recently released his first single through their Japanese company, from the perspective of Asia’s strongest vocal group, however, they decided on releasing this worldwide album in order to open up a wider market. While they still want to further develop their strength and fame in Japan, at the same time, they are also prepared and have set their sights to compete in America’s music market.

Nich Khun had posted a comment on a photo posted up on UKiss Alexander’s Twitter taken during the recent filming of SBS Star King. Nich Khun commented, “That’s my wife sitting in the front! Tell her I said ‘HI’ for me Alex! thanks buddy~”

Amber Collabs with Taiwanese Popstar

It’s always about Amber, Amber, Amber. At least in this article it is. The popular f(x) member will soon be loaning her rap skills to another track.

f(x) member Amber will be featured in Taiwan popstar-cum-actor Tang Yuzhe (Danson Tang)’s third album’s title track, with rapping.

In the past 2 days in Taiwan there has been a lot of interest about his third album “D 一秒”(1 second) expected to be released on the 24th, with title track “I’m Back”, where Amber’s strong beats and powerful rapping in English and Korean will add charm to the song.

With this featuring, f(x)’s debut in Taiwan has been gaining a lot of interest, particularly for Amber whose parent was born in Taiwan, and with her excellent rapping skills, she received love calls (requests) from Danson’s company to work with him. Last May Amber had traveled to Taiwan for album recording and filming of music video, and the two of them will appear together in “I’m Back” music video in the coming 10 days.

Amber said, “This is my first trip to Taiwan after debut and I was very nervous but Danson took good care of me and his fans also supported me, it was a great experience.” Danson also said, “It was awkward the first time we met, but after some conversations it became enjoyable and things worked out smoothly.

Come to think of it, while Amber is arguably the (if not one of the) most popular members of the group, we really haven’t got a taste of what she’s capable of as a rapper. Maybe “I’m Back” will give her a chance to spit some lyrics, hardcore.

‘The friendship and thoughtfulness among the members’

Singer Shin Hyesung says that the secret to Shinhwa’s longevity is the loyalty among the members.

At the press conference held before his concert ‘Find Voice In Song’ on the afternoon of 7th June at the Tokyo International Forum, he talked about the sturdy friendship of the Shinhwa members.

Shinhwa is the longest-running idol group in Korea. Having been active for the past 12 years, Shinhwa has been much mentioned in discussions regarding the recent disbandment of idol groups such DBSK.

Shin Hyesung said, “I’ve seen many cases of idol groups enjoying popularity when they first started their activities and then ending up getting disbanded. Shinhwa too has faced all kinds of disbandment crises in the past 12 years.”

He said that once this happens, members must talk it out.

“If the members don’t want to talk about it and when the mood turns bad from talking about it, a fight breaks out.”

“The friendship between men seems to have a big effect. Work is separate from friendship, and though there are problems related to work or money, they are resolved through compromise and consideration for one another. If the younger idol groups are able to do the same it will be great. We haven’t stopped for 12 years, and we will continue to be together for 20, 30 years.”

Shin Hyesung also shared his excitement about having all 6 Shinhwa members being on the same stage again.

“When we meet we always talk about this. Having the members quickly return one by one, and reunite on the stage with the 6 of us all bringing you music. We’re really looking forward to it.”

Shin Hyesung made his debut in Japan with his Japanese album ‘Find Voice in Song’ on 24 Feb this year, and held a 2-day concert over 6th and 7th of June at the Tokyo International Forum where he performed to more than 7,000 fans.

He also has plans for a concert tour and fanmeetings in Taiwan, Shanghai in July and September.

As for activities within Korea, he is scheduled to make his comeback with a full length album during autumn.

Shin Se-kyung takes on assassin role opposite Song Kang-ho

Now that Shin Se-kyung isn’t doing the gumiho drama anymore, she has announced her next project: a movie project with top actor Song Kang-ho (Thirst) called Blue Salt (a working title).

In it, Song Kang-ho plays a retired mafia boss, while Shin Se-kyung is a mysterious woman who is sent to kill him. When she tries to get close to him, he shows a different side to his normally cold mob boss exterior as he develops feelings for her. Meanwhile, she comes into conflict with her original motives when she starts to care for him as well, and role will allow Shin to depart from her innocent image in showing a bolder, more provocative side.

Directing is Lee Hyun-seung, who brought together two (literally) faraway souls in Il Mare with a light and deft touch. Blue Salt will begin filming this summer.

Shinhwa Shin Hye-sung says felt uncomfortable to make Japan debut

Korean singer Shin Hye-sung, the former boy band Shinhwa, has said he had felt "very uncomfortable" about making a debut in Japan after being slapped with a fine last year on charges of gambling.

Shin made the remark at a press conference, held Monday afternoon at Tokyo International Forum prior to his concert in the city, opening up to reporters about the incident from last fall which took a hit on the famed singer's career.

He made headlines in October when he was charged with a 10 million won fine for gambling in Macau on several occasions. 

"After the incident, I thought that I should take time off for self-reflection but a lot of things were tangled up," explained the singer. "I had been preparing many things even before it broke out... It was a time when we needed to push forth the things we had been putting off. It meant a lot to me personally because it was my first album in Japan but I didn't feel comfortable."

He released the debut album titled "Find Voice In Song," and a greatest hits compilation "Shin Hye-sung Collection 2010 - My Everything" only a few months after he was slapped with the charges. 

The singer further explained that he went through a "very difficult time" dealing with the guilt that he had let down his fans, family and other singers as well.

"I am human too.. I worried a lot over whether I could ever be a singer again," said the former pop idol. 

Shin held his first solo concert in Japan, titled "2010 SHS 'Find voice in Song' Tour in Tokyo," on June 6 and 7, which attracted some 7,000 fans. 

Meanwhile, Shin said that he is also planning on releasing an album in Korea in the fall and asked for the fans' support in making his comeback to the local music scene. 

"I would like to apologize again to fans, whom I had let down, from the bottom of my heart," he said. "Please help me so that I can perform on stage again in Korea."

Shin Hye-sung, whose real name is Jung Pil-kyo, debuted in 1998 as the lead singer of popular boy band Shinhwa. He has released two solo debut albums "Love of May" (2005) and "The Beginning, New Days" (2007).

Remember when we first heard the surprising news that Shinhwa member Shin Hye Sung was fined for excessive gambling?

Well, the singer seems to have gotten back on track since then as he apologized to fans about the unfortunate incident. On the 7th, right before his upcoming Japan concert, vocalist Shin Hye Sung met the public and said, “I’m truly sorry about disappointing those who loved and cared for me by doing something really stupid and behaving in a way I should not have.”

Regarding the album he released in Japan on February during break he explained, “I thought taking a break would be the best thing to do so I tried to delay the release as much as possible but it still seems to have been released pretty quickly. Even after releasing I did not feel very comfortable about it.”

Last year, Shin Hye Sung took some time off after the incident and returned to fans with a more mature form of himself. He again apologized to fans and close friends for his actions and truthfully revealed, “This was the most fearful and scary time for me throughout my 12 years as a celebrity.”

Additionally, on the 6th and the 7th Shin Hye Sung met approximately 7,000 fans during his concert titled “2010 – Shin Hye Sung Live in Tokyo, Find Voice in Song.” The singer plans to continue his concert tour in other Asian countries including China, Thailand, and Taiwan.

Stars attend 71-Into the Fire movie premiere

After numerous press conferences, hype and drama stirred up by North Korea’s sinking of the Cheonan, the war movie 71-Into the Fire was finally set to open in movie theatres on June 16th amidst tension on the Korean peninsula.

Ahead of the public opening, a special VIP premiere was held this evening on June 8th at Lotte Cinema near Konkuk University. With a stellar movie cast including the likes of Kwon Sang Woo, Cha Seung Won, Kim Seung Woo, Big Bang’s T.O.P. and many more, you can certainly expect a lot of stars to grace the event.

Goo Hye Sun wants Big Bang’s T.O.P for her next movie

Talented celebrity Goo Hye Sun, who will be releasing her movie Magic which she directed, has showed interest in casting Big Bang member T.O.P for her next work.

During a recent interview, the beautiful actress said regarding T.O.P’s first movie appearance, “I have more interest in the movie 71-Into the Fire because same “family” (YG Entertainment) member T.O.P will be making an appearance. I am so curious to see whether or not T.O.P acted well in the movie.”

In addition, Goo Hye Sun continued by revealing some interesting facts about the handsome Big Bang member as she said, “T.O.P usually does not speak much and has a quiet personality, but he became much brighter after filming for the movie. He was a person who purposely answered with minimal words, but now he even sends continual text messages,” explaining how T.O.P was changed by the movie.

Goo Hye Sun also made a cute statement as she smiled and said, “I’ll have to think about placing T.O.P in my next movie after watching his current movie. I’ll ask our CEO Yang Hyun Suk for the acting fee and try to have T.O.P in it for free.”

The answer we’ve all been waiting for is finally here, as Pledis Entertainment has finally unveiled the identity of the third and final member of After School’s sub-unit group, Orange Caramel. So why don’t we all give a round of welcoming applause for Orange Caramel’s final member, Lizzy!




To be frank, we all saw this coming ever since the start. After revealing their selections of Nana and Raina, it was only a matter of time before they unveiled Lizzy to be the trio’s third member. Let’s certainly hope Pledis’ decision on choosing only the newcomers of the group would be beneficial to Orange Caramel’s success, at least it’s something fresh.

More details on this highly-anticipated trio haven’t been released yet, but it sure seems like we’ll be able to meet the three girls on stage soon.

The main guest star on today’s KBS 2TV Win Win was Boys Over Flowers star Goo Hye Sun. 2NE1’s Sandara Park also made a special appearance on the show and she revealed that she’s good friends with Goo Hye Sun.

Goo Hye Sun is under the same label, YG Entertainment and Sandara revealed that Goo Hye Sun quickly befriended her around 6 years ago.

Sandara also read an email in which Goo Hye Sun wrote to Sandara while she was in the Philippines saying to be healthy and return quickly. As 2NE1 is currently inactive due to promotions, Sandara stated that she was happy that she was able to appear on TV after a long time because of Goo Hye Sun.

Sandara Park also revealed that she wants to meet the F4 from Boys Over Flowers. If you can recall, Sandara Park already met Lee Min Ho through the Cass Beer promotions.

the group D-NA will be making an official move in their activities in Japan.

D-NA’s company, Open World Entertainment has announced that D-NA has made a contract with D.A. and has been confirmed in advancing into Japan. Starting from Bae YoungJoon and with his management, D.A. plans big-scale events while having a claim on the contents of Korean dramas in marketing, and besides having an industry with digital contents and mobile phone contents, they also started a broadcasting channel last year on the 1st of October which is called DATV, standing for ‘Discover Asia-enta! TeleVision”, and is currently airing with the theme ‘Asia’.

D.A. said, “As soon as we saw D-NA’s performance on stage, we thought that they were a talented group that would be hard to lose. It was to the point where we thought that their potential was unlimited. Despite their young age, D-NA is a rare type of group with an abundant sensitivity in their music and performance” and showered them in praise. D-NA is set to start promotions and events with a single album on the way starting from the beginning of September to December while staying in Japan.

D-NA’s company Open World Entertainment’s Representative Jang SukHoo revealed that “Digital Adventure and the producers will starting from now, collaborate on contents to do with K-pop concerts, Hallyu concerts, events, performances, recordings, and also throughout Japan’s Hallyu contents.
