Lee Byung Hun is under fire for supposedly toying with a girl.

22 year old Kwon Mi Yeon from Canada, claims to be Lee Byung Hun's ex-girlfriend. She also claims that Lee Byung Hun tricked her into bed by promising marriage, and has suffered emotionally as a result.

On the 8th, Kwon Mi Yeon filed a $100,000 claim with the Seoul Central District Court against Lee Byung Hun for damages and emotional suffering.

Get ready for what will surely become another entertainment industry rollercoaster of scandalous claims: Lee Byung-heon, megastar and current lead in KBS drama IRIS, has been accused by a Korean-Canadian woman of sexual misconduct and slapped with a lawsuit. Lee refutes the claims and is fighting back.

According to Lee's management company, BH Entertainment, the star had been the target of "severely slanderous" phone calls beginning in November from an undisclosed group of men, who blackmailed Lee with threats to "expose him to a scandal" if he did not pay them several billions of won. On December 8, a lawsuit was filed with the Seoul District Court by a 22-year-old Canadian gyopo (a Ms. Kwon), who charged that Lee had lured her into a sexual relationship with false promises of marriage. As a result of the mental and physical harm she suffered, she demanded compensation for damages. The amount is for 100 million won, or roughly $86,000 USD.

The woman in question had been a student studying rhythmic gymnastics at York University in Canada before meeting Lee in September 2008, and was a Canadian national athlete. He had been in Toronto to promote his movie The Good, The Bad, The Weird when they met through a friend's introduction. The president of a company that sponsored Lee told her that she could continue to study and practice gymnastics in Korea and asked her to move to be with Lee. Lee approved the idea, and she left Canada. However, she says that Lee's behavior changed after her arrival in Korea, and he grew indifferent. He set her up in a home in Seoul but left her to be alone most of the time. She emphasized, "I believe that as a famous star, he used his celebrity and financial power to merely toy with me then abandon me."

A BH Entertainment representative explained, "Lee Byung-heon did have a girlfriend whom he met last autumn and broke up with this spring, but the abovementioned men threatened to create falsehoods about him and the ex-girlfriend while demanding money. However, when Lee Byung-heon refused to comply, they presented the woman as plaintiff in a civil suit." The threats demanded 2 billion won (approx $1.7 million) and the men are said to be connected to Ms. Kwon, although their exact relationship was not disclosed. The rep explained that as Lee's side had done nothing wrong, they had requested an investigation into the threats. They will counter through legal channels with their own lawsuit for defamation of character.

UEE and Yubin outshine their mentor Jin Tae Hwa

Having made his comeback as a solo artist, Jin Tae Hwa from idol group Battle revealed a strange a twist of fate involving UEE and Yubin.

During the filming of MBC 'Quiz to Change the World,' which was aired on the 5th, Jin Tae Hwa shared stories of his lifestyle as an elite trainee. In 2005, Jin Tae Hwa was able to emerge victorious on Mnet cable show 'Battle Shinhwa,' where Brown Eyed Girls' Ga-In and Big Bang's Seung Ri could not. He then continued on to debut as a member of Battle.

Jin Tae Hwa expressed, "Back then, there were two dongsengs who I met during practices: After School's UEE and Wonder Girls' Yubin. I said to them proudly, 'Since oppa will be debuting first, I will layout a path for you guys so just trust oppa and follow me.' However, they both left the company and became much more successful than me." His last comment made all the viewers laugh.

He does make a good point, however, as both his pupils are currently doing very well for themselves. While UEE is starring in numerous dramas, such as SBS "You're Beautiful" and MBC "Queen Seondeok," Yubin is advancing into the U.S. market and even managed to rank #76 in the Hot Billboard 100 for her group's single Nobody.

Even those who were eliminated from 'Battle Shinhwa' experienced a turning point in their musical career that rose them and their respective groups to fame.

Talk about irony! Or horrible luck...

On this episode, Jin Tae Hwa also performed a collaborative dance with Taegoon, who auditioned for 'Battle Shinhwa' with him. Stay tuned for an update on the video clips.

Yoona, a member of the girl group Girls' Generation, Tuesday said her ideal type of man was Takuya Kimura, a Japanese entertainer.

During a KBS talk show, Yoona said she was very grateful when many South Korean entertainers picked her as their dreamboat. "I was especially glad when singer Lee Seung-gi pinpointed me. But my ideal type is Japan's Takuya Kimura."

Kimura, a Japanese actor, is a member of Japan's idol group SMAP. He is one of the most well-known entertainers in Asia as well as in Japan.

Yoona, 19, aroused laughter, saying, "I don't have Kimura's telephone number. Is there anyone who can introduce him to me?"

She drew attention by admitting during the show that she was the most beautiful girl group member in South Korea.

SJ-M goes on “Big Party” to battle “Sorry Sorry” Dance

Super Junior-M visited popular Taiwanese TV show “Nation’s Big Party” (全民最大黨) on December 7th to meet their famous rivals/impersonators. Comedian Kuo Tze-Cheng (郭子乾) was originally set to impersonate South Korea President Lee Myung-Bak, and prepared to welcome them with a speech in Korean. However, the group would prefer not to be associated with politics so the skit had to be cancelled.


Kuo Tze-Cheng impersonated South Korea President Lee Myung-Bak and was practicing his welcome speech in Korean backstage.

“Big Party” producers stated that they will not broadcast any parts with impersonation of President Lee Myung-Bak. However, Kuo Tze-Cheng insisted on watching off-stage in full presidential make-up, he said, “You guys don’t have treat me like the president, just think of me as an old man.” His appearance was so realistic that the SJ-M members can’t help but bow to him. Kuo Tze-Cheng wasn’t worried that his Korean speech would be wasted, “No problem! I will do it with my “Jerry Yan” impersonation a bit later.”

Final F.Cuz member Jinon revealed!

New upcoming boy band F.Cuz (pronounced as Focus) has just released information on their 4th and final member, leader Jinon.

We saw photos and videos of Sul Woon Do's son, LeeU, lead vocalist Yejun, and the dancer Kan. All three of these guys didn't fail to impress us, and they seem to have much talent.

With that, Jinon has now released a video to showing off his rapping skills along with a girl singing beautifully. They sang Tasha's (Yoon Mi Rae) song Memories / Smiling Tears even though on the video it has a misprint of Memorize. Remember to check out the F.cuzed Forums.

SHINee to perform new song ‘JoJo’!

5-member boy band SHINee recently wrapped up their activities for "Ring Ding Dong," but they will be back with their follow up track "JoJo."

SHINee will be returning with a special stage performance of JoJo via KBS Music Bank on December 18th, 2009!

Fans are highly anticipating this return as the SHINee boys have officially shed their cute image and are now mature men. JoJo will showcase their vocals and is supposed to be as if not more charismatic than Ring Ding Dong, so stay tuned!

In addition to Music Bank, SHINee will also perform JoJo on the 19th via MBC Music Core and on the 20th via SBS Inkigayo, it's going to be a crazy weekend!

Quite a bit to read, but the group interview is really adorable and Minho's story about his friend who passed away made me tear up. I think Yejeon is making a huge mistake having them focus on "solo activities" when they haven't even released anything more than a single. Oh well, we shall see what 2010 brings for these boys.

Han Ga-in looks for drama comeback role

Han Ga-in has a new management team and a new goal of returning to television screens in the coming year. She’s eying four to five projects, raising the possibility that she might make her comeback at the same time that her husband, Yeon Jung-hoon, will be appearing in SBS’s medical sageuk Jejoongwon. Yeon had said last year during his East of Eden days that he’d like to work alongside his wife. For now, they won’t be in the same series, but it’s possible that they’ll be in dramas concurrently.

A few of Han potential projects include SBS’s OBGYN [산부인과] (which sounds better in Korean, really) and MBC’s A Man Called God [신이라 불리는 사나이]. The latter has already cast Song Il-kook; should Han sign on, it would be a reunion for the lead couple, who worked together in 2004’s Terms of Endearment.

Han’s last role was in the dissatisfactory 2007 trendy series Witch Amusement (aka Witch Yoo Hee) — and I don’t use that adjective lightly; Han and co-star Jae Hee both expressed their frustration with the crazed writing after the drama wrapped. (It was one of the worst-written dramas I’ve seen.) She’s stuck to CFs in the interim, but according to her management, “She feels some disappointment for her two-year hiatus, but she doesn’t want to be hasty with the decision for her next role.”

Personally, I have to put Han into the category of actors whose looks surpass their talents, but I leave open the possibility that she could have improved since Dr. Kkang and Super Rookie four years ago. (While she wasn’t great in Witch Amusement, she was the least of that drama’s problems.) Like with Kim Tae-hee, I haven’t really liked her acting but find her likable; she has an amiable, upbeat image that has served her well.
