I read this notice about jackson's absence and I still have the same question: is he out from this comeback and specific promotions or like a permanent thing for japanese activities? I don't know if the text/translation is not really clear or if I'm just really dumb and can't read lol

the japanese notice says 'from now on' - the only japanese activities he'll be part of are ones they've already filmed/completed, so it's permanent

if that's the case, it's sad. like good thing if it will help his health, of course, but also a bit weird? it would make more sense if they had said he would just sit for this promotion cycle to rest and everything.. but they're making a strong decision for something that they can't really predict? (even if jackson has some continuous health problem, he should take time off from all his activities, not just the japanese one. that's the part I don't really get and makes me think there's more to this story than his health?)

I have to agree if it is for his health you would think he would be sitting out of everything. I don't know but I thought I had read that it is was hard for him to travel so much, and since it seems he is doing a lot of activities in China maybe it is to hard for him going back and forth. But I would think they would say for this promotion and then we will see his schedules the next time and maybe he can go. Just doing a flat out he will not do any in the future seems very strange to me.

I thought the decision, or the explanation, was strange too. I thought at first it was only this round of promotions but the thread underneath the tweet says it's permanently so... I understand he has a lot of schedules in China and his career there is a serious investment to him, and not to say his health has been taking a toll. Just didn’t think it (or his China activities as it seems like tbh) would lead to him skipping a part of got7's activities entirely... At least not so soon... Idk. It's gonna be weird not seeing him with got7 in Japan anymore :/

the official statement also didn't explain much and it was released only through japanese site so many fans still don't understand why he's not in the mv. some think he's sitting out this promotion because his grandfather passed away few days ago (when this mv was filmed few months ago), others think it's because he was sick and is going to come back next year or for japanese tour.

it's true that he was always sick when they were touring in japan (and the upcoming tour schedule wasn't planned well either) but i honestly think his health was just an excuse this time. he has activities in china lined up in november and december already so he won't be resting.

he didn't have much time to focus on china because got7 are always on tour or promoting and it led to him flying back and forth after 1-2 days of schedule in china and if he resigns from japanese activities he can have more time for china every year.

No one knows for sure. His studio is registered under his father's name but I saw someone on weibo claiming that JYPE take 50% of what he earns in China.

Everyone says that he is taking time off because he can't travel that much due to his condition, and I'm really glad he is,, but if he didn't have so many promotions and projects in China, he wouldn't be as busy. So surely JYPE gets something from those Chinese solo activities because I just doubt that they'd let him go and do solo stuff in China and get no profit all while not profiting from him being in Japan.
