Putting the three best vocals (for Twice) at the top of the song immediately got me into it. And I FINALLY LIKED A MINA VERSE!!!
The styling in the video was perfect! (Save for that sack they made Jeongyeon wear.) That hairstyle they gave Jihyo in the final dance scene, she needs to wear that as much as possible before we're tired of it. It compliments her so well!
I was expecting more nods to social media somehow but this was fine. The camerawork during Momo's verses cracked me up and the dance break was a welcome return to a Twice single.
I love it. Twice has a perfect singles track record so far. I hate Signal at first but it grew on me. Momo sounds awful tho. I cried at Dahyun's verse, wtf.
I'm not sold on it The only memorable thing for me was the 'likey likey likey' and only because it was repeated so much It's fun, but not my cup of tea I didn't like the MV either, which is weird because I usually do but this was a bit lacking
at this rate twice is gonna burn out faster then snsd did lmao. no offense but JYP is really going to run this group into the ground. Why they had 3 comebacks this year in korea and this didn't come out next year I dont understand- They really should focus on Japan for a bit-. This song is nothing new from what they've already done and if they keep releasing similar songs people are going to notice sooner then later how one note they are. They need to start padding their releases until they are ready for a shift in sound. It's like kpop companies are rushing to put out these quick little minis to make money but aren't actually pausing to put in some real effort.
I like it now more than I did on initial listen. There are parts I don’t care for such as MoMo’s sections. But it doesn’t kill the song for me. The Sana-Jihyo section is pretty memorable and catchy. I think the video is pretty lackluster compared to what they have done before. I will say the album is good
Love it!!! It's so catchy. I totally see why the girls were excited about it. So much Sana omg I already liked her getting the chorus so having her on the super cute hook is perfect. Personally I like that the vocalists are more in the verses than the chorus, it's more interesting. That back and forth between Jihyo and Jeongyeon was great. Jihyo shined a lot btw. I'm just surprised by Mina's parts, she's usually very quiet, even when singing, so we'll see how she does live.
They all look amazing (the styling!!!! probably their best, except for Jeongyeon but even then I think she looks good) but I wished they've done more for the MV, it looks a bit like a tourism add. Maybe more dance shots would have helped? Btw MOMO'S DANCE BREAK!!!
Same for the Mina parts. She sounds so much more enthusiastic than the normal airy/reserved voice she sings with. It makes all the difference on this song.
I love love love everything. I love how TWICE keeps coming out with these songs that are really catchy and addictive but have an unexpectedly realistic undercurrent at times, touching on negative emotions girls experience in modern day life, etc. I might've thought this was a really vapid ode to social media or something but the tension throughout the arrangement plays so well into the rap section and sudden change of mood from bright to dark. I have so many more feelings about this song than I expected to have lol, it's all the growth I wanted to see in this cb delivered totally beyond anything I could've predicted. also the dance break makes me emotional
wth i LOVED it on the first listen! this hasn't happened to me with a twice song since cheer up. the me likey likey part is stuck in my head (can't wait for rookie x likey mashups tbh)
Dahyun and Chaeyoung killed the rap and then Momo with the dance break!.Love the pre-chorus too, the whole thing flows really well, it's a nice catchy bop.Also what a gorgeous MV. Great to see Jongyeon getting more lines and I liked that Mina had more of an enthusiastic delivery in this song than she normally does
But seriously Momo needs to stop being given such prominent parts in their songs, her voice can't even be helped with autotune.
Overall this doesnt top Knock Knock or even One More Time for me but it's not Signal levels of garbage so I'll take it.
its pretty good! i really like sana's part. only part i dont like is dahyun's rap part where the music changes. not my favorite styling, but jihyo's chest is giving me life
