Heyyy a Charlie & the Chocolate factory-themed MV could be really good! I hope they keep darker undertones (after all, they had Mina and Hyeyeon try to eat an icecream toddler in Ice Chu lmao).

Well Ice Chu gets dark quickly when you realized that Hyeyeon and Mina try to eat a family THEN follow them in the hospital to go on eating them THEN manage to eat the policeman who arrests them lol so... I hope for a darker theme underneath too!

exactly, it's that after thought from oh that was cute to did they just murder an entire ice cream family and is that actually cute? and the dance break was good.

but really all i want is for them not to use those super cutesy singing voices that just... they're all such good singers (and i'm gonna miss soyee's voice too) and i really hope they use nayoung's lower toned voice too... i doubt i'll get it all but maybe on the b sides

At least A Girl Like Me was better than Wonderland, not as cutesy and not as high pitched (especially Nayoung's parts!!!). I have hopes that they'll keep this direction or, at least, keep using their vocalists in a better way than Wonderland. And that Ice Chu being higher pitched was just because of the subunit's concept... I loved Ice Chu (mostly because of the dance break and murders XD) but I want to keep this kind of full-on aegyo + high pitched delivery to subunits.

this is so true! aglm was a huge improvement (and this is almost word for word what i wrote in my diary last night...) but i''m in complete agreement, fingers crossed they actually utilize those amazing vocalists they have.

ice chu worked so much better than i expected and the pitching worked for hyeyeon and mina really well (hyeyeon has a beautiful singing voice and mina's rap flowed, it didn't seem unnatural - i know people wanted her to rap in a lower tone but the tone she used for ice chu worked with the song and she seemed comfortable with it)

also have you seen the promo pictures? i have hope it won't be a wonderlandx2, it looks like they're going for more of the concept/fun theme again which i am here for. also charlie and the chocolate factory as a theme was a stroke of genius for them, they could have so much fun with it and i hope they do (and it has the same catchy vibe as aglm and ic)

Yes this group is actually really impressive. Sejeong and Haebin are amazing, Nayoung and Soyee have original tones that were totally drown in Wonderland's sugary delivery (but already shined better on AGLM!!!), Hyeyeon is really good too. Even Hana and Mimi aren't that bad for non-vocalists, they're not the best of course, but given that the group already has 5 strong vocalists, I was expecting less from them lol.

It took me some time to be used to Mina's delivery, for me it sounded more like the song was tailored to Hyeyeon's voice and Mina had to tag along (I still like her Veryx3 rap better) but she sounded comfortable live so oops, I was wrong I guess XD Hyeyeon really shined, as I thought she already did on Rainbow (similar vibes to me). But Ice Chu wouldn't have worked for other girls lol, I really don't see Nayoung, Haebin or Soyee on it XD

Yes I've seen them!!! I agree the colors remind me of Ice Chu/AGLM a lot, I like that they left Wonderland's pastel pinks and blues (that so many groups use) for bright, constrasted colors now. It suits them better!
I'm hopeful and excited about this :D

ia, they do have some incredible vocalists (which shined so much more on the bsides and aglm which made me happy) and even the non vocalists do solid work.

it's interesting to see how different people consider songs, i felt like the song was more taylored to the concept than them individually. i have to say considering very3 is the only time we've heard mina rap in that lower tone i wouldn't call it her 'natural' tone, i feel like i want to hear her rap outside of performances more to really judge that (the tone she uses often seems more tailored to the song so? maybe she's comfortable rapping at various tones in which case jelpi should really use that).
hyeyeon did shine a lot, that dance break suprised me when she first did it (i knew mina could dance so i was less suprised there) as she was so good and then carried on singing, she was oppertating really as the main vocal (mina was back up and rapping more)
but yes ice chu wouldn't have worked for them, i hope we get a seperate sub unit for them maybe soyee, hana, haebin and nayoung for songs more like red velvets one of these nights or automatic, i can see them linking that style to a concept and carrying it off super well (and then hana can do the dance stuff and the others can show case their voices and i can be happy) (i feel like they would work well as a unit too) i mean i can dream right?

yay! i'm in agreement i love the block colours for them, it makes them stand out a bit more too and the pastel tones (which have a place) are more cute. i like that they tried the cute concept, could see it didn't work for all of them so turned around and tried something different which is working for them more. i just hope the live outfits are good too, some of aglm were cute but some of them didn't work.
