PRISTIN’s Kyla To Take Break From Activities Due To Health Concerns

On October 12, Pledis Entertainment announced that PRISTIN’s Kyla will be taking a break from activities.

They revealed, “Kyla received a checkup while resting at her home in the United States during Chuseok, and the doctor recommended for her to take a break. Kyla wanted to receive treatment while carrying out PRISTIN activities, and our agency also wished for Kyla’s activities. However, the doctor advised against promoting with her current health state and said that rest should be the priority.”

As a result, Kyla will focus on treatment in the United States until her health recovers, and she will return to continue PRISTIN activities afterwards.

by "health concerns" I wouldnt be surprised if its actually mental health. Poor girl is always bullied for her weight and she is so young. I think staying in the US for a bit might be good for her. Random but we live in the same town in california lol.

I'm heartbroken anytime I think about all the abuse she's getting - coming as well from their "fans" at fanmeeting... hopefully Pledis will keep supporting her because no doubt the same "fans" abusing her will ask for her to never comeback ;_;

Part of me feels like she was too young to be in this group anyways. I don't really support 14-15 year olds being in kpop groups in general

But then if I find out she leaves, I'll be upset - I like her rap style and I think she has potential to be great with experience. She doesn't deserve all the hate she receives whatsoever. And yea, if she comes back and has lost weight it'll probably just like fans treated Umji with all that 'she's so much prettier!' BS

aghh i'm so worried for her. most teens can barely handle to bullying they face in school, let alone from thousands of incredibly and shallow (men) strangers on the internet. i really hope she is able to recover in a healthy manner. pristin just got through promoting so hopefully they take a break before the gayos at the end of the year.

the most vile thing about this is not even the people calling her fat but the bunch of people on twitter that used her for RTs and blew this out of proportion, before that there were probably few haters here and there but after tweets under the guise of "body positivity" it gained traction and basically we end up here welp

this has never happened before, though? pristin have a lot of ot7 fans and they often stay silent during kyla, sungyeon and yehana's parts. those three happen to have less fans than the other girls because they didn't appear on produce 101, thus less people who'll go out of their way too cheer for them. in fact, i'm pretty sure kyla is the most popular out of those three among pristin fans.

i'm a bit tired of people acting like pristin fans all hate kyla because it isn't the case at all! a lot of them simply don't care about the three members that were added to the group later on and if anything the other two are even less popular.

kyla should take as much time as she needs to recover. i'm gonna miss her, but her health comes first. hopefully she'll return to pristin eventually.

hmm. well after rewatching some performances i can see that sungyeon and yehana get less cheering too. it's strange that there's SUCH a drastic difference compared to the girls who were on p101... i can understand nayoung and kyulkyung being the most popular, and the p101 girls might be more known to the general public, but among pristin fans i would think they would be about the same. k/s/y were part of their predebut projects and concerts after all.

nayoung actually isn't that popular among pristin fans :x i'm pretty sure roa, xiyeon, eunwoo and rena are more popular by now. but yes, it sucks how split the fandom is (and the reason ot7 stans don't care about sky is because they think they're not pretty enough). HOWEVER, i do feel like it's gotten better this era? now at least all the girls have fansites.

didn't the originial "she's too fat!" article only have like a handful of comments anyway? and it was the ifans blowing it up that brought it all to attention, leading to killagramz talking ON TV about her that she doesn't need to lose weight. when that happened i was just thought, poor girl, she's probably dying of embarrassment and wishes people wouldn't mention it all instead of drawing more attention to it, even if it was in support.

this makes me so sad. I'm glad she got to come home for the holidays, but I can't imagine how bad it must be for the doctor to seriously advise against returning. I also can't imagine how concerned her family must be about what idol life is for her.
