nah, jjong's album last year had nine tracks too and no repack, and press it was only ten tracks, iirc? (+ jjong is working on an album rn so he'll be the next shinee cb in line after taem.)

I assume every full SM album with a tracklist in the single digits is just bait before the repack, but you are right! Jonghyun's album didn't get one, and neither did Press It at 10 tracks. I can calm down 🙏

sm has a weird concept of what makes up a full album anyway. i don't really get how they think half of the time. if jjong (or actually taemin was the first to drop the news, but) hadn't already confirmed that he was working on an album (and if there weren't rumors the cb is semi-soon-ish) i'd be more convinced of a repack happening. but it's kinda sounding like taemin is gonna focus on the unit and shinee's next release in japan after promotions finish.

Ha I don't think so. I just mean the phrase. Honestly I hadn't heard that term used to describe alt/new wave R&B before Jonghyun started using the phrase when citing it as inspiration a few years' back. It's funny how SM has latched onto it.
