EXO's part-time member LAY will drop his second studio album with the title track "SHEEP" on Oct. 7th, 12PM (his birthday) digitally and physically on Oct. 18th. He took part in composing, arranging and producing the whole album. The album comes with a 300pg photobook. Below are the concept pictures.

I don't even think you can blame SM for this lol. Hip-hop style, streetwear and braids/locs are popular rn in China because of TROC so he's probably trying to go for that (off the top of my head, Bridge, TT and After Journey who were popular on the show all had locs, Kris had some twist/braids combo in the finale and IMP's fade+braids).He looks a goddamn mess but that's to be expected.

The only part about this that I guess is good is that African migrant workers in China have said their salons are doing good business with the trend so get money I guess lol. Idk why people who's hair texture is clearly not meant for these protective styles try to do them, so many of the TROC contestants had scalps that looked like they were begging for mercy.

Also the sheep/his face morph is hella weird lmao. Why is the sheep his new trademark? I know Luhan uses deer because that's part of his name.

im kinda taking a break from stanning lay, im not even sure if i'll buy his new album. he comes across as a pretty arrogant guy in his latest interviews. also im getting tired of the whole innocent image? i wouldnt mind him showing a bit more personality. add his latest hat scandals on top and im currently out.

I have question for you. I'm black myself but I was was just thinking many people I know that have studied in Korea/Japan/china can wear their natural hair to work aren't really discriminated based of their hair so do you think Asian people can be judged the same way we judge white people for cultural appropation. Since one of the arguments is that the reason why it's wrong is cuz non-black people wear these styles to be unique or different whereas for black people it's our natural hairstyles and we are discriminated against just for wearing our natural hair.

Actually, some of the negative connotations do carry over. Like the Chinese word for dreadlocks literally translates to "dirty braid"

Yeah...I honestly think it's cuz since a lot of none black peoples hair doesn't dread in the same way as black people their hair would be dirty since they can't wash it properly with their hair type. Not saying the name is right but it's annoying that people think dreads are dirty just cuz their people can't wear dreads without their hair being dirty.

Yes, I think you can judge them the same way. At the end of the day it all comes down to respecting people. White and Asian artists clai to love Black culture but have shown time and time again that they don't respect black people (black face, colorist "jokes", stereotyping) and that's a problem.
