i mean they can definitely go the powerful route and show their actual talents and flop , or they can go the cutesy route and water down everything just to make the korean public happy (and tbh it's actually working , good day is gaining small popularity)

i kind of disagree that they've watered down their talents with this concept - sure it's a different genre to what they associated with predebut, but the girls clearly really enjoy their performances, and the choreography is interesting, complicated, and unique - totally in line with the talents they were showing predebut. C9 is also giving them plenty of avenues to express their predebut image, what with boy group covers coming up constantly in interviews/fanmeets and them even getting a concert soon after debut where they were able to perform

That's kind of what I like about them - their song is cutesy but they really suit it, but as well as cutesy it's high energy. fun and totally age appropriate, rather than just another almost-ballad with almost-school uniforms and longing expressions.

i was listening to rolly the other day and i do agree with you, it's kind of like red velvet's debut w/ happiness (you thought it was cute initially but it's really energetic and age-appropriate), the choreo is exciting and theatrical which makes me think the concept was actually supposed to be like a musical or something?

I think we get so hung up on the cute/strong binary that we forget that there are other concepts too, haha. I'm not going to pretend I didn't initially feel let down that their song isn't in the genre of the songs they covered predebut but once I got over that I began to like it for what it is, a really energetic big bang inspired song with confident lyrics and choreography with really awesome swing/jive references. I'm glad the group's energy and talrnt are helping other people come round too!
