Flashback Friday
2017-09-22 02:38 pmHappy Friday! I am off to Hooters for dinner and I can’t wait to drown myself in hot wings and ranch dressing! Every week I go check out the past charts for this day and post the top three songs. Then, I share two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. This Friday, let’s see who was on top for the 4th week in September, 2009. The top three have already been posted before, so we’ll see some live performances.
#3 Kim Tae Woo “Love Rain”
After all these years, this remains one of my most ultimate favorite KPop songs. It makes me so happy. Kim Tae Woo just has a really lovely voice. Back in the day I only knew g.o.d as “that group with the tall guy that sings really well” from the baby show lol. I think this has to be his biggest solo hit. (PS OMG I just Googled and that babysitting show was in 2000, that baby is in high school now!)
#2 4Minute “Muzik”
Pretty little ladies! I’ve always liked the chorus of the song the most, it’s catchy and I like that part of the choreography. They all look so cute! I love Hyuna’s dress, I’m going to need that for New Years. I love sequins on New Years!
#1 G Dragon “Heartbreaker”
This isn’t my favorite solo of his, but seeing him do it over the past year with the 10th anniversary and solo concerts just tickles my heart. It’s a fun song. I’ve always loved this choreography, it’s nice to see him do it again. Grandpa Kwon doesn't quite do it like this now lol.
Honorable Mentions
#8 Kara “Mister”
“Mister” comes on and you will do the butt dance. You just gotta lol. This song blew up SOOOO BIG. This was everywhere. That dance was all over variety lol. The only official MV for this song is the Japanese version, which came out two years after the Korean release. So here’s a live performance from 2009, when it was on top of the Korean charts.
#9 f(x) “La Cha Ta”
Their debut song! I don’t think I’ve seen the video since it was first released. I didn’t remember any of it until the chorus hit, then the song and choreography became more familiar to me. They look sooooo young! Sulli looks, like 12 years old. How old was she here?

Date: 2017-09-23 03:28 am (UTC)La Cha Ta as a debut song wouldn't have done as well if f(x) came out with it now, I think (I still love it though). But at the time everyone was shookt because of Amber and the iconic teaser video:
Muzik was the song 4minute were promoting when they visited my country. That era and HuH will always have a special place in my heart. *mourns 4minute*

Date: 2017-09-23 08:53 am (UTC)La Cha Ta and Chu hold a very special place in my heart as far as f(x) singles go, because I got into Kpop in late 09' and those two were the only MVs they had released at the time.
