GFRIEND recently made a comeback with their first repackaged album “Rainbow.”

The group is well-known for having a diverse fanbase across gender and age, especially amongst teen females. When asked about their fans, they humbly answered, “We think its probably because we have an innocent high school girl look. Because we are similar to them, and seem to be close to their age, we think we were able to get so much love and interest because we could be friends with them.”



The members also commented on their improved lifestyle after their success, especially on their new dorms. Sowon revealed, “Our living room got bigger. We normally couldn’t use our living room much. We did have a TV but we had to drag out a table and chairs and even sit on the floor. But now we use our living room a lot. I think we’ll be able to spend more time together.” Umji smiled and said, “Our president bought us a really big TV.”


GFRIEND debuted in 2015 with their first mini album “Season of Glass” and are now reaching their third year anniversary. Although they have achieved much throughout this time, they revealed they had a goal they have not yet reached. Umji commented, “We want to do a concert quickly. Although it’s not planned yet, we always wanted to do a concert since before we debuted. We think that it’s about time for us to do one.” Sowon also stated, “Whenever a good song comes out, we are gradually thinking more and more that we want to try it [at a concert].”


On September 13, GFRIEND members SinB, Yuju, Eunha, Yerin, Sowon, and Umji held a Naver V Live broadcast for their fans to commemorate the release of their repackaged album “Rainbow.” During the show, they talked about their new album, songs, and stories behind their comeback.

Following their previous release “Love Whisper,” GFRIEND came back within three weeks with their new repackaged album. SinB said, “While we were promoting ‘Love Whisper,” we prepared this repackaged [album]. We didn’t know this album would be released within three weeks.” Yuju showed excitement for the new song, saying, “My mouth was itching [to sing the new song].”

GFRIEND’s new repackaged album contains two new tracks, title track “Summer Rain” and “Rainbow,” in addition to previously included songs.

Yuju addressed fans’ questions about why a track titled “Summer Rain” was being released at the beginning of fall, and revealed, “‘Summer Rain’ is a song that looks back on summer memories, so it’s a good song to listen to in the fall.” Eunha added, “It is a song about beautiful love that is unpredictable as the summer rain.”

I hope they'll be able to do that concert soon! there are so many songs I want to see performed by them, but Say My Name, Rainbow and Contrail are on top of my list.

Are they ever going to give Yuju a new hairstyle? I swear she's had that look since their debut.
I really enjoyed all of their songs but Summer Rain was such a disappointment. Really getting tired of the songs SoMu is making them comeback with. They're starting to sound like one long ass song.

SoMu better give Sowon and Umji more lines in their next comeback.

i wish them all the success, they seem sweet (also rainbow is a ear blessing and i'm sad it wasn't the title song for this repackage but i see why they went with summer rain)
