I wish they'd done the chorus differently because it's VERY LW-esque (perhaps inverting the arraignment??) and I definitely heard so MGT moments but overall the song manages to still be its own thing and sounds nice.
this and their last comeback have been pretty basic for them :( i'm curious about the choreography because some elements look pretty from what you see in the mv but others a bit boring.
they look very pretty and the mv is quite nice but eventually i got a bit annoyed with the blurry filter?
i think this is like a sad version of love whisper? like a parallel (idk im just trying to make sense)
I had the same thought! xd
I think the "problem" of Gfriend is, that their debut and their first comebacks all fall into the "cute/innocent" concept and they got a lot of fans that way. "Navillera" and "Fingertip" according to a lot of people didn't do so well, because they had a more "quirky/cool" concept and fans didn't really like that. So it makes sense to go back to their roots. Still sad, because it seems like they're stuck with the same concept now, while they've proven that they can do so much more! And you can only do so much with the "cute/innocent" schoolgirl concept.
It's interesting how Love Whisper did nothing for me and it's pretty much the only GF single I don't replay, but Summer Rain I find really pretty lol. I guess that I like it sounding a little bit sadder haha
I love this. The music and the dance really look great and the whole mood of the video is great too!
TBH I love these concepts because I dress like this too haha but I feel an it sad since I think some of the girls would prefer to do something closer to fingertip (Which I also loved)
Love Whisper as a song grew on me so we'll see about this one. The MV is pretty. The glimpses of choreo with the flower shapes look interesting. Yuju is still a queen.
hmmm ... the thing i like(d) most about gfriend's song was even if they were totally saccharine they still had a punch. these past two songs have just been way too soft for my tastes.
i love it. ever since rough i've been hoping that they would do another sad concept and i love the parallel with love whisper. the bits of choreo that are in the mv look great, can't wait to see the performances!
i guess my tastes are similar to k-fans because i didn't enjoy navillera and fingertip as much as the concepts they did before... although i appreciated them stepping out and trying new things. i think the choreo was a big factor bc i didn't find it as interesting in those eras. hopefully they'll find a balance and stick to their roots without getting stale.
honestly i like it, it's like a superior sad version of love whisper, which makes me wish they hadn't released love whisper at all because it makes the new song kind of confusing to listen to. the mv is also really by the numbers for them, like come on there is more to life than little white flowy dresses even within the bounds of a cute/innocent concept.
also lol at "the songs sound the same because it's a PARALLEL concept" bullshit, what a thinly veiled excuse to release the same song twixe
I think it will do well. I love the piano (I even wished there was more of it) and the nostalgic/slower vibe of this song will totally fit autumn. Their voices are pretty and the MV is also engaging (apart from the dance shots, those dresses are a bit bland). This said, like Love Whisper before (and even though the song grew on me a lot, as this one will surely do), it lacks the underlying intensity than even their first concepts had (often through guitars solos but there are other ways to build up intensity, for example they could have worked something out with the piano?). And while I'm enjoying this, I'm a bit sad that they lost this edge. Also while I get that Love Whisper and this one are supposed to be parallels (a nice idea to begin with!), I still wished they had played it a bit differently in the chorus, it's more obvious than subtle.
It's a nice but I was hoping for a bit more. I feel like after Fingertip underperformed (I know it still did well, but it didn't do as good as previous eras), Source would rather play it safe. The choreography is gorgeous as always though, and I can't wait to see it live.
It's not a bad song, just that there's nothing special about it. I'll wait for the stage performance though, Gfriend's never let me down there.
The movie is just... They need to get a new director or something. So much slow motion every time, it's boring. I guess in this song it at least fits the theme, but enough already.
