A new official NCT Japan twitter account popped up.

However, instead of announcing an NCT Japan unit, the account is promoting the Korean unit NCT 127.

this is how i see it too. 127 has upcoming japanese activities that they can use the acc for but i dont think they'll get a japanese debut, at least not as nct 127 (nct 139 come on). and since it's a general nct account, all the units will get posted about for j-fans. the japanese unit was rumoured for november so we'll see if they're gearing up for that

i haven't been able to keep up with fandom and rumours so we'll see if i still have my 7th sense (ha) i do hope they don't drop the localised units yet, they gave us enough heartbreak with them, but i don't think they will since they're preparing nct indonesia and south america etc. i wonder if they have any japanese trainees tucked away, otherwise i'd see 127 redebuting as a japan unit too...

NCT Young and 127 seem to be doing well enough for rookie groups so I think SM just went: "Let's stick with these groups and whatever else we have planned can... go into the archives for now". Which quite frankly doesn't surprise me???

With time it feels like SM bitten more than they can handle with this whole NCT project (THAAD probably added to the problem here etc) - I feel like some incarnation of them is always currently promoting but also nothing truly moves forward?

Seems like SM is really there for keeping their concept consistent and I respect their somehow innovative ways bc it's rare in kpop, but I can't help and think that if you just took&debut NCT U with maybe Yuta, if you want badly that jpn member, and gave them not clown like clothes and more coherent songs it all could be in whole diff place? Idk, I just only care about their vocal line A LOT and wanna here them go all out in title track lol

i'm chill w/ this. they've done mag interviews there and stuff, i don't see why they wouldn't have a japanese twitter account ahead of whatever's happening w/ their japanese unit debut, either—since a lot of grps do, even before officially promoting in japan
