SM Entertainment addressed the recent airport security issues regarding Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon.

On August 18, SM Entertainment said, “Taeyeon was very surprised at the chaotic situation in Indonesia’s airport, but she is stable now. She is, in fact, more worried about whether any fans were injured.” They added, “She is currently working as planned locally.”

They added, “The hosts apologized deeply, and they will be increasing the security so that there will not be any safety issues at the performance venue or when she leaves. On our part, we will also take extra care in the safety of our artists and increase security.”

Meanwhile, Taeyeon had expressed her distress at the poor safety and organization at the airport a day earlier.

i posted a number of different translations (and they all use a different naver articles) to get a better translation for what SM said.

i don't buy SM apologizing for anything, more like just pushing the blame onto airport security and the organizations instead. typical SM not taking responsibility for anything. as if SM has EVER cared about the safety of its artists considering this isn't the first time it's specifically happened to taeyeon let alone SM artists in general. there was no way she nor hyoyeon should've travelled with only ONE manager

nah, lol. sm has been throwing soshi under the bus for weeks now.

everything with onew is still in korean media - it's brought up in every new age of youth article and they're even starting to write articles mentioning the other members (like how the guy replacing him in the drama is friends with minho) and there's news stations doing investigative reports on it with older facts to keep it fresh. plus prosecution hasn't even announced whether or not the case is going to trial so it's far from over. i've been keeping tabs on soshi's situation for awhile now, because they're my ult girl group, and it's been ... slow but coming for awhile.

My lazy googletranslate version of comments seems like they're sympathetic more than anything. There are also some instances of comments like "Really SM? You can't get her better security?"

I know NB cherrypicks comments, but most of them (http://netizenbuzz.blogspot.com/2017/08/taeyeon-harassed-by-fans-at-jakarta.html) are in line with putting all of this on sm.

I know this is going to sound like a crazed conspiracy theory but what if SM scaled back on what she needed to try and pressure her to stay. I know that's extreme but this IS SM.

I don't think it's that crazy. I've seen people in other posts saying the same thing.

She's arguably GG's biggest star and it wouldn't surprise me if they were trying to make an example out of her like they did Jessica.

i believe it. i mentioned it in one of the other posts but there's certain members that sm would try to fight harder for than others - especially if they were considering leaving. she's not only the most popular member of soshi but she's one of the most popular female idols. losing her, or someone like yoona, would be a big blow to them.

Well since SM essentially sabotaged their comeback, I'm ready to believe anything. I was shocked that they'd do that to their own legendary gg, but should I be surprised? With what happened with JYJ, China line, SJ Chinese members, they'll do anything to protect their own interests, even something as crazy as letting snsd fail.
