The newest teaser starts with new character Jo Eun, played by Choi Ara, browsing in a bookstore and coming across a piece of paper that has Belle Epoque’s address written on it. The chyrons read, “It all started with that letter,” as a voice wonders how someone can be wounded if there was no one to inflict it. Jo Eun makes her way to the house, but she’s not exactly met with open arms, as the original housemates think her a bit suspect and are convinced she’s hiding something.
Ever-stoic Jin-myung (Han Ye-ri) is definitely in a better place a year on, having gotten a stable job, but that comes with its own hurdles, as she’s seen chugging drinks at a company dinner. Ye-eun (Han Seung-yeon) is still haunted by the events of last year, flinching, stopping in her tracks, and even falling to the ground at the sight of men.
Eun-jae (Ji-woo) has an awkward encounter on the street with her sunbae ex-boyfriend Jong-yeol, (Shin Hyun-soo), who haltingly asks whether she’s okay. Eun-jae narrates, “When feelings cool, that’s the saddest reason there is.” Uh-oh, looks like energizer bunny Ji-won (Park Eun-bin) is also dealing with something serious as she collapses in a club and mumbles something about pretty heels. At least she has her buddy Sung-min (Sohn Seung-won), to catch her when she falls.
The teaser ends with Jo Eun wondering who the letter was intended for: “So, who is it? Who wrecked someone else’s life and continues to laugh like that?” The content of the letter is superimposed by flashes of the housemates’ faces, and at the bottom of the page, the last sentence reads, “I’ll kill you.” Yikes, that’s ominous. The four original housemates sit around their dining table laughing, and Ye-eun calls out for Jo Eun to join them.

Date: 2017-08-16 04:40 am (UTC)It also would have been hypocritical for them to minimize Hwa Young's part in the show due to her scandal but keep Onew when he did something even worse.
I hope they just recast his character. Removing his character entirely may cause problems and I'm already worried about how this season is going to go as it is.

Date: 2017-08-16 04:43 am (UTC)I guess since Onew is only a love interest (5/10 min screen time each episode) and they just start filming, it wont be difficult to cut him off completely from the drama.
I hope he stays completely sober (ala Tsuyoshi of SMAP) after this scandal and apologize to the girl despite he has no memory of the harassment.

Date: 2017-08-16 04:58 am (UTC)(assault / harassment tw) tl;dr: onew and some of his (non-celebrity) friends were wasted and went to some club to celebrate ... something early on the 12th. onew was black out wasted and he ended up assaulting / harassing a woman who had been dancing on a platform linked to the table he was seated at. (the club is set up in a way where people can dance on the tables.) eyewitness accounts say that he was trying to stand up and grabbed her leg for support once or twice because he fell. he grabbed at her leg a third time but idk when that happened exactly because translations have been so inconsistent. she felt rightfully violated and her boyfriend end up calling the police to report what had happened. onew was too drunk to respond to questions when the police got there and they took them in for questioning. he sobered up and, according to some new info, i guess said he didn't remember what had happened but he apologized if he'd done anything. everything at this part is, idk, because translations haven't added up still but what i gathered was she came to the conclusion that what had happened had been a misunderstanding but she still felt it was assault despite that. she ended up dropping charges after this. apparently sm was involved in this part somehow but the details there have been pretty vague. a few hours after this the story got to media. the police put out a report on the 14th saying that he'd been cleared of charges and all the testimonies that they had added up, but because it's mandatory to forward cases reported originally as assault to a prosecutor for suggestion of trial (without detention if it does get sent there), they were going to do that. i think they got forwarded earlier today - and now this.
i'd say not to try searching it up on regular media outlets (minus maybe soompi). there's a lot of inaccurate information going around due to bad translations and korean media being opportunistic with details. so, most shawols are waiting to see if the police release a better statement.

Date: 2017-08-16 07:09 am (UTC)Good thing that he left. Sucks that they have to re-film his scenes on top of the already busy schedules. I hope they find a good replacement.
Also I wonder if actors have to pay a fine when they get into a scandal right before a project..
