Rescue Me/Save Me Ep 3-4 Discussion Post

Synopsis: A girl is surrounded by suspicious people and quietly whispers, “Save me!” in a dark neighborhood alleyway, and a couple of unemployed youths hear her and run to her rescue. They discover that she’s trapped in some kind of pseudo-religious cult and try to help her, but what ensues is a sequence of horrifying tension-filled events that make us wonder more about the science of the human psyche.

I LOVE this show.
It's dark, intriguing and will stir your guts not only with the creepy & crazy af cult thing, but with the stories of each characters.

I had been waiting for the time jump so I'm happy that it came because a) no things will really get going and the closer we are to what I hope will be the eventual collapse of the cult and b) I really hated Sang Mi's bangs so I'm glad ha forehead is free~ now.

That boy is totally gonna die from whatever injuries he has right? It's just the vibe I got after the cult members wanting to pray away his pain or whatever. Then we got him leaving the hospital with his injuries untreated and then the big crash at the end..... I mean his prior injuries could have been only some bruised or broken ribs but that on top of being in a car crash isn't good.

Even though I don't want the kid to die it just seems the most likely scenario and it works narratively (apparently this isn't a word ooops lol). It would probably lead to people snooping around at the cult compound if a medical examiner notices that the boy had injuries prior to that crash.

The group of guys are totally going to some how appear at the crash site right? To parallel the first episode where the car broke down along side the road.

Woo Do Hwan is just my type *looks lovingly at her collection she of Ryu Jun Yoel, Kim Woo Bin, Ji Soo, and Byun Yo Han* he's so intense and expressive with his eyes. I got chills when he asked "who ordered you to do that" Dong Cheol is everything. He's the stock trope tragic character but man does WDH play the heck out of him. My heart breaks for the injustices he's had to endure.

Sang Mi is my everything. Girl is so damn strong and a fighter. Many would cower in fear and dispair but she stays strong. I've loved her since she threw the milk at and slapped the taste pit that eirhjless bullies mouth, I cheered so loud when called her father the crazy weak little man he is. I was on my feet applauding when she picked up that tool. O hope she does some real damage to Jo. May she continue to save herself as much as the boys will.

Sang Hwan ain't shit. He stood by and chose to be complicit in the take down of his suppose to be best friend. If a better actor was in this role I would have sympathy (because he is a sympathetic character and the situation was a rock and a hard place as they say. I could understand the dilemma). Taec cannog act his way out a paper bag and thus is adding nothing to the character and making it hard for me to like him because I can't connect with his suppose to be emotional scenes (I laughed at the bat scenes with Sang Mi and the boys and also the watching Dong Cheol walk away as well as the bus motorcycle stop one). He's barely serviceable when he just has to act himself. This role calls for more than he's got and I'll always wonder how he continues to land lead roles.
