i thought the running man episode was pretty great tbh lol. definitely a lot of laughs and the partner selection part took up half the episode for a good reason. end mission felt a little rushed but still a lot of highlights from that segment too. kim taeng acting like she was filming a horror special lmao. knowing brothers episode had a number of jokes about (ex) boyfriends that the subs don't really explain which is unfortunate. seohyun dancing sistar's shake it though, dang girl! i haven't watched the happy together episode yet but apparently for an episode that was advertised as a 10th anniversary special, they edited out eveyrthing about that and future goals :/

I watched all three of these shows. They were all entertaining.

I've read some complaints about Happy Together splitting the air time for SNSD's show, and that didn't make sense to me considering they had an hour long interview segment and that's also the current format of Happy Together (Part 1 is interview and Part 2 is Big Mouth group). The stories they shared were interesting, but that's probably because I haven't watched a lot of variety shows with SNSD, so their stories were new to me.

okay, i'm not an snsd fan in the slightest - havent even listened to the new songs, but i have obviously been seeing the headlines and news and stuff on various sites ...

literally wtf is going on. is there some conspiracy happening against them? i saw they were edited out of that liberation day concert, their promos seemed to be cut short at the last minute, and now mentions of their anni are getting edited out, too?
is it too dramatic to think something is rumbling behind the scenes? do sones think something is up?

i still think they pulled them out after only a week because of wanna one taking over korea. yuri's injury also played a small part in it but they could have easily let another member cover her parts or let her sit on a chair during performances.

apparently a repackage is in the works so i hope they do a better job at promoting it, but exo is already rumored to come back with a repackage, BTS is coming soon, super junior and TVXQ.... yeah, lets not expect too much.

ngl the sm pulling them out to save face crossed my mind (for the weekly award shows, not all around promos).

why would cj e&m be blocking them? who are they backing that would be in direct competition with snsd? or could it be like a personal revenge between the two ceo's or something lol?? (that company is scary tho. they own everything)

when i first started seeing headlines about some of the problems i thought it was just sm's poor planning/decision making ... but seeing some of this other stuff coming out later is making me think there's bigger things at play and i'm just o.O what is going on?!

They don't need to block them tho, W1 were guaranteed to smash any competition, SNSD or others. Ment are known to act dirty but only when it serves them, blocking SNSD does not. I can't see a reason for it anyway

They blocked WINNER too. I saw tweets where at least four groups/artists have been blocked recently by MNET when they lined u number one on all the other charts.

the cj e&m stuff is fuuucked but, tbh, that's the conspiracy theory i'm paying the most attention to. like the only ~* fortunate thing about is yuri being able to sit out and still there's other things sm could've done to cover for her (like they always seem to do w/ shinee)

Did SME ever stop to think their terrible planning might be the cause of SNSD "underperforming" UGH it's such an irritating company

sm could at least give us some variety shows. snsd are legit variety queens. the cj e&m stuff is so sketch, this is the first time i'm hearing about this. such a shame. i love when they do weekly idol & sketchbook. i saw the news about them being edited out of the peace concert and apparently MBC promo'ed the shit out of their performance and advertised the concert with their name and didn't even show them at all??

i really wanted this comeback to be amazing too. i was in junior high when INTW came out and i've been a fan ever since. sm needs to get their shit together.

omg for the MBC concert apparently MBC's official weibo is saying that SM requested that SNSD be taken out of it and people are saying it might be because of the Tiffany scandal, but then you could just edit it so Tiffany isn't shown??? tf??

Like something has to be going down in SM right now like what the fuck

Literally makes no sense on either sides. MBC advertised the hell out of their performance and then it wasn't there. Then they said they would be in part 2 and they weren't there. what the fuck.

There are rumors going around that SM is not planning to renew the girls' contacts, except for Taeyeons, because they no longer find them profitable.

?

From: [identity profile] sayuridoll.livejournal.com
I would scream if that happened. I wouldn't be surprised, but I would at least think they would offer contracts even if they are shitty contracts to the girls.

But just because they flopped digitally, they did perfectly fine physically and the ratings on variety shows have been really good for an idol group. Also they did fine with that station release last year. They were at least #4 or #5 last year on the iChart for awhile and they didn't even promote.

It's as if these bastards expected them to have over 150k sales on the first week and all kills on charts without giving them a decent amount of promotion to measure their popularity...After two years of barely any group activities.

They oversold themselves and would have sold way more if they had produced more albums. A lot of people didn't even know SNSD were having a comeback, which is entirely on SM, yet their chart positions climed up significantly after their music show performances. They get the best ratings on shows, get a decent amount of CFs (for those that can afford them), sell out their Tours and they're not profitable?

Something's up.

More rumors (unconfirmed ofc): Only Taeyeon, Yoona and Sunny had renewed their contracts back in June and SM's negotiating the contract with the rest of the members. Yuri was just recently spotted at SM with her dad, so there's a possibility.

Yeah, their contracts are up this year and soon, so that could explain some. I'm not shocked if Taeyeon resigns or Sunny since it's her uncles company. Yoona is a shock, but I bet SM wants to keep her because she brings in that yuan.

I would think Tiffany would resign, but with the way SM treated her with her scandal idk it makes sense.

Even if all the girls don't resign in SM, I hope that SM will let them promote under the name together if they want to do another album.

From: [identity profile] miwa201.livejournal.com
that makes no sense. they're more profitable than red velvet at the moment. they sell more and i'm assuming they still have touring power (and tours bring the most revenue)

Okay this entire thread is making me sweat.

I don't know what the hell is happening but SM has fucked up big time and dropped the ball. Holiday jumped 15 spots to #21 yesterday on Melon and is climbing. I don't know why SM wasn't prepared with more CDs considering Soshi rules when it comes to physical sales.

As for MBC fucking up and editing them out and using Tiffany as an excuse. Bye, you can choke. SM is literally covering Onew's ass when they threw Fany to the wolves over a Snapchat filter. The fact that MBC used Soshi to hype it up...I have no words.

I don't know what the situation is with their contracts but this entire comeback is badly done, they could have made SNSD promote for a month before EXO comes back for the repackage but nope they got to let their boy groups come out.

I honestly expected something B I G for SNSD's 10th anniversary and I'm totally not impressed with what we got. It feels like such a letdown. x.x

thank you op! gonna watch knowing bros first, always up for snsd insulting each other lol

haven't seen knowing bros but i love heechul's relationship with the girls so i'm excited. running man was hilarious. the first half was the best part imo, solely because of the partner selection. the flexibility portion and the rock paper scissors game had me dying lol. i wish happy together wasn't cut so short and sudden. i really liked hearing their bts stories.

sm needs to do better. smh.

Knowing Bros was hilarious, Yoona was savage, they went after Heechul like there is no tomorrow, can't wait for second part with Sunny, she was real queen last time and beat Bros to the pulp.

WHEN will they stop putting grown women in school uniforms? It's not even funny anymore, it's just creepy. ~.~

Need to watch "Running Man". It's always entertaining!

watched all three in the past few days, and I'm so glad for some Soshi variety after a rather long and dry spell.

My fave was definitely Running Man, followed by Knowing Bros, and many above have commented on the great parts in these two! Happy Together had its moments, but overall felt a bit lacking (although it was the only one that gave Tiffany much more screentime).

as much as Tiffany isn't good at variety, I can't believe they cut out Jong Kook and Se Chan so much during that episode? give my girl some screen time to build up her likability!

RM was hilarious! The girls saved the ep with their witty comments and variety skills, cause the games were actually boring.
