Jessica talks about Soshi (NO clickbait!)

Jessica recently sat down for an interview where she shared touching comments about Girls’ Generation, after debuting with the group 10 years ago.

When asked what Girls’ Generation means to her, Jessica replied, “A precious relationship, something precious, which I spent my youth together with? We went through everything together, including difficult and good moments and more. I think it was a really beautiful period for me that I cannot erase.”

As Girls’ Generation and Jessica recently celebrated their 10th debut anniversary on August 5, Jessica also talked about how she feels to have reached the big milestone.

Jessica first said time has gone by so fast she hadn’t even thought about it being her 10th anniversary. “It was only when my fans told me that I thought, ‘That’s right, this year is my 10th anniversary.’ I feel proud of myself too for reaching my 10th anniversary.”

Jessica’s fans celebrated her anniversary on the big screen in Times Square in New York, and Jessica expressed her thanks for the event. “I think that now that I’m promoting on my own, fans do more support events for me,” she said. “I was really surprised.”

She added, “It gave me strength, and made me want to release my new album faster.”

Jessica was also asked if she’d listened to Girls’ Generation’s new comeback album, which was released to celebrate their 10th anniversary.

“I haven’t been able to listen to the whole album, but I saw a music video clip,” she said. “I think it came out in a way that suits them, and expresses their own unique colors.”

Girls’ Generation’s debut track “Into the New World” has become a classic song, and was a hot topic last year when trainees performed it on “Produce 101.” There’s even currently a drama of the same name.

When asked how she feels about the song, Jessica replied, “It’s a really happy song. A song that I cherish. I saw some buses on my way to the hair salon today, and they were ‘Into the New World’ filming buses. I’m happy. Because it’s a precious song.”

But I don't think that's why SM won't allow it, it just goes against everything they stand for to give any kind of publicity to someone who, in their view, owes them her fame and is now making money off of said fame without giving them their "fair share." It's the same thing they did with DBSK and SUJU, I still remember how their lawyers basically called Hangeng an "ungrateful traitor." No one holds a grudge like they do.

In terms of albums sales they've sold more than Lion Heart and Mr. Mr. Not sure if they'll sell more albums than the others albums like IGAB, Hoot, The Boys, etc

Not good, but it was to be expected since SM decided to release it at the shittiest of times and had some major competition with Winner, Wanna One and SMTM. We don't see them winning any music shows this time around either. Apparently SM's been fucking up with the album stocks (?) as well, but they've been doing well physically.

Call me biased, but it seems to me SM set them up for failure and I have no idea why.

For sure, but it seems counterproductive to set them up like this when it'd a group that still makes the company a lot of money. If they had delayed the digital release for only three days, results would have different.

Come to think of it, SM's been weird af this year, getting acts a comeback so closely to each other when they did the bare minimum the first half of the year. There's not much to worry about boy groups because they'll do fine whether their releases suck or not, but for girl groups or less popular acts, it's just a shitty manouver.

It's a lot more direct than anything she said in previews interviews loool but the tone is the same, she always sounds really thoughful (one reason I'm reading all her interviews lol). It's not surprising ; it's been enough time to move on and Jessica is having a life where she can be both the designer she wished to be and the singer she trained to be.
If only Soshi could say as much as Jessica can, I'm sure they're just as chill and over it by now.
And if only SM would allow Jessica to perform on tv shows too... that must be so frustrating
